  2. Gear Grinder Join Date: Oct 2017 Location: Upstate NY Posts: 3 Update : I took the truck to my military base with just over 500lbs in the bed. I also lowered the tire pressure a bit to test the pinion angle theory, as the drive shaft may be at a bad angle. Unfortunately the weight and lowering of pressure didn’t seem to make a difference ‘ the truck shook just as bad as it did with no weight. Update you guys after my appointment on Tuesday. My question is when a shop has a road force balancer able to do larger tires will it tell if the tire is bad ? How about the wheel.
  3. My vibration shakes the whole truck, but is not coming from the steering wheel at all. I had a drive line shop check my drive shaft for Trueness and balance ... it checked out perfect!
  4. Hey guys desperately looking for help!! I took my truckand put 20” Moto wheelsand General graber At2 tireson it. The tireswould not fit in the front wheelwells so I put BDS leveling keysin and a 1” block in the back so it still had a little rake. I have been chasing a vibration in the trucksince. The vibration only starts at 70 mph and up! I have had the tiresroad force balanced ... spun the tireon the wheeland all that Jazz. I then took the drive shaftoff and they check it and the U joints for trueness and balance, it of coursechecked out perfect. After I am somewhat confident it is not the tiresanymore or the drive shaf I took it to Chevyserviceto get the paper trail started. I was told today by Chevythat because I put a ”lift” in it that they would not check it out or diagnosis the problem. However, they speculate since I put the liftin it it changed the angle at which the drive shaftspins hence probably causing the vibration!! They are not willing to do anything thing else with it until I put it back stock. I unfortunately don’t have the stock wheelsand tiresthat came with it so I can do that. Plus if I take the leveling kitout my front tiresrub. I love the dieseland look of the truck, but I can’t deal with this vibration. So I need HELP any suggestions ????? THX guys in advance!! heymccall Diesel LegendJoin: Feb 2005Posts: 17171Monroeville, PA USA Ron Nielson Diesel ChampJoin: Aug 2009Posts: 1894Berryton, KS asaxby75 online Gear GrinderJoin: Oct 2017Posts: 2Upstate NY heymccall Diesel LegendJoin: Feb 2005Posts: 17171Monroeville, PA USA Ron Nielson Diesel ChampJoin: Aug 2009Posts: 1894Berryton, KS asaxby75 online Gear GrinderJoin: Oct 2017Posts: 2Upstate NY
