  1. Well, that is disappointing to read. I too have the same set up as you do and am quite happy with the ride. The springs are a little bit firmer than the stock ride was. I live in New England where the roads are terrible. Pot holes and patches are everywhere due to the frost heaves, but I think the truck rides just fine. I have trailered with it, and it rides great with that hooked up too. I wonder if you have something else going on? Bad shock? Shackle mounts too tight? Wrong springs? I have 700 miles on my lift and I just re-torqued everything this weekend. The u bolts needed some tightening, but everything else looked good. Also,(knock on wood) I have not seen any stabiltrac issues either. Other than height, my wife has commented that it rides like it did before the lift. Something must be wrong with your set up. Have you tried to remove the shocks and see if it makes any difference? In any event, good luck with your search, and I hope you figure it out.
  2. I went to the dealer last weekend and looked at the RR trucks and they definitely have a lot of slack in the sensor wires on the front end. Also, I noticed that they have routed the wire differently than is shown in the pictures above. I am mad at myself that I didn't snap a picture of it, but I will get one the next time I am near the dealer again. They have routed the wire toward the rear of the knuckle and have a clip screwed into the knuckle to hold it. I did not trace any wires in the rear (assuming there are some there too), but will I will check into it the next time I am there.
  3. I can't believe that 10 pounds of air increased the height by that much. Have you seen any stabilitrac issues surface yet?
  4. Looks fantastic! Exactly the look I am going for too. Can you tell me which BDS system you ended up with? Any further comments? Also if not too much trouble, can you tell me tires and how do you like them? Fender measurements would also be helpful to me if you could. Thanks.
  5. How often does the stabilitrak kick on and is it annoying enough to make you wish you hadn't lifted the truck? Does it make it difficult to drive or cause anything squirrely that can cause other driving problems? I am trying to get an idea of how much pain I would be in for with a lift. I don't need a lift, I just like the look of lifted trucks better and would prefer to do it to my truck now and enjoy it, rather than waiting until its old. But if it is going to make me have regrets, I won't do it at all, or wait until there is a bona-fide fix out there. Comments?
  6. Maybe there are extended lines for lifted trucks? Wouldn't that be a kicker if all these problems were because during turns we're pulling the wires tight and it breaks/loosens the connection just enough to trigger it. I wish it was something as simple as that, then I could order my lift and stop agonizing over whether I want to take the plunge or not.
  7. Good things come to those who wait. I want to see the pictures, so I feel like I got let down too. LOL
  8. All, Please keep this post updated with your experiences. Due to this issue, I am hesitating on pulling the trigger on the lift. If we can solve the stabilitrac issue, then I will proceed. Planning on BDS, possibly coilover set up, leafs and 35's but not if its going to make the truck annoying to drive.
  9. Anyone have any updates on the stabilitrac issues?
  10. I have been following every forum on lifts and have held off from pulling the trigger on ordering BDS 6" coil over when I heard about Payton's problems. Some others have had Stablitrac issues but only at higher speeds. I am concerned with comments that the rear spring pack is too stiff but that blocks will be more prone to wrap. Right about now, I am so confused, I don't know which way to go. Please post your experiences once you have your lift, or PM me if easier. I am really interested in how you make out. Ride, fender height, handling, glad you did it, etc. Thanks
  11. What pressures are you running the tires at? Maybe it's too high?
  12. Please measure before and after the add a leafs go in. Is the comment regarding coil over shocks based on first hand knowledge? This is the first time that I am hearing that the coil overs ride like a rock. Everyone else to date have said it was pretty smooth with the coil over set up. I was worried about the rear leafs being too stiff.
  13. How high did the rear of your truck end up being? I am guessing a 5" block should put you around 45 inches?
  14. How do you like the rear leafs? How do they compare for ride against stock? I have heard others here say they are too stiff. Have you towed anything with that set up?
  15. Anyone have an opinion on which is worse between stiff springs and axle wrap? I want to order lift soon, but concerned about what way to go.
