Upgrade from 4" to 8" Screen
Velocibiker replied to JshLnsctt's topic in 2014-2018 Silverado & Sierra Mods
Speaking of antennas. Does anybody know the name of the antenna connector (what type of jack) on the OEM radio module? 'Old school' and aftermarket radios have what is called a "motorola" jack. Has the metal prong at the and of the antenna cable that is inserted into the back of radios. I want to add a second antenna, but it has the motorola jack. Need to find an adapter to go from OE radio module to an antenna splitter. Searched Metra.com, but the images don't look right. Any help would be appreciated. -
Disabling Daytime Running Lights (DRL)
Velocibiker replied to LTZTom's topic in 2014-2018 Silverado & Sierra Mods
What I'd like to have is the fogs act as my DRLs. But not have the parking lights come on as well. Could using relays work to turn on just the fogs? Everything else work as normal. -
daylight / night dash sensor
Velocibiker replied to billybob denali's topic in 2014-2018 Silverado & Sierra Troubleshooting
Still having issues with mine. Sometimes the headlights and interior sensors not in sync or bass ackwards. As much as I hate to say it, it may be time for another visit to the dealership so they can tell me again that there's nothing wrong with it. -
daylight / night dash sensor
Velocibiker replied to billybob denali's topic in 2014-2018 Silverado & Sierra Troubleshooting
Mine has started doing this after I had disconnected the battery to install a CAI. It's really quick to switch to night time (dim) mode but it now takes 2-3 minutes to switch back to daylight (bright) mode. Seems overly sensitive to any darkness. Other than being an inconvenience while driving when I can't see the DIC or the big display for a few minutes, it's a bigger PITA as the backup camera is practically useless when the display is dimmed out. Anybody know a way to make it switch to daylight mode faster? Found an old poster with similar issue here. -
Rolling down windows and remote start
Velocibiker replied to tdforce's topic in 2014 - 2019 Silverado & Sierra
Would be nice if this could be a software update. Having the windows open when the mirrors unfold would be a nice feature. I'd also like the truck to roll up/close all the windows when I use the remote to lock. It will fold in the mirrors, seems it wouldn't be too hard to close the windows too. Since my windows are not tinted, it's sometimes hard to tell if any are open.- 54 replies

issue Transmissions Issues/Problems
Velocibiker replied to OUSux's topic in 2014-2018 Silverado & Sierra Troubleshooting
Not sure which dealership you are referring to, but I got mine @ Ed Bozarth and they have had my truck for a total of three weeks so far trying to diagnose and fix a whining issue I hear. So far they replaced some gears & bearings in the output shaft and the entire rear end. Sadly, still not fixed but at least they are trying. I have a bad feeling that I may have to have them buy it back under NV lemon law. Kinda pisses me off as I really like the truck otherwise. Comfy. Drives nice. Had a Tundra previously and I like the Silverado better. Maybe I need to get the Colorado... -
issue Transmissions Issues/Problems
Velocibiker replied to OUSux's topic in 2014-2018 Silverado & Sierra Troubleshooting
Took my 3 month old Silverado into the dealership on Monday for a whine I was hearing around 60mph. They called back late that day and told me it had a "bad gear". Truck is now stuck at the shop waiting for new parts. Should have it back by Friday. The whine wasnt the only issue I complained about though. I also felt there was some unpleasant shifting under low speed/low load conditions. Hopefully not only will the whine be gone but the shifting will improve. I'll update when I get the truck back. -
Foglights On With High Beams
Velocibiker replied to Spurshot's topic in 2014-2018 Silverado & Sierra Mods
10-22 turns on the fogs automatically when the parking lights (or headlights) are turned on. I get that. What I want is for the parking lights + fogs to come on automatically with the DRLs. Pretty sure just 10-22 won't do that for me. Can you post pics of the other lights related plugs going into the BCM? Maybe I can figure it out. -
2014+ Lowering / Drop Kits

Went to my dealer yesterday and a very nice mechanic looked up the specs for me. Rear Spring Shackle Nuts: First Pass = 85 lb ft. Final Pass = additional 90 degrees. Rear Spring Anchor Plate Nuts: First Pass = 59 lb ft. Final Pass = additional 130 degrees. -
Foglights On With High Beams
Velocibiker replied to Spurshot's topic in 2014-2018 Silverado & Sierra Mods
What I want is the DRLs, parking and Fogs to work all together like the DRLs. Meaning, with switch set to auto, those three work in tandem as DRLs. Whether dark or bright, regular lows still turn on/off automatically. Yes, I know I can just turn the parking lights and the fogs on using the switch, but I'm lazy and just want it to work that way all the time. For me, it goes back to riding motorcycles and being conspicuous. Just about every car these days has DRLs, so in addition to adding some LED driving lights behind the grill, I want these to all act as DRLs. Hopefully to stand out just a bit more than the masses. -

Bumping my own post. Also need the specs for the U-bolts. -

Funny that your post followed mine as that's exactly what I'm waiting to do ( install belltech ,#6401 ) but need to know what the bolts need to be torqued to. However, shims and vibration? Did you read about that elsewhere or are you experiencing vibration? -

Will somebody let me know what the torque specs are for the rear shackles on a 2014 Siverado LTZ? When I searched for 'torque', I found posts that said "torqued to spec", but nobody has posted what the spec actually is.
