  1. after 3 days the paint has dried, the glossy look has faded some, so Im grateful they did something........I feel remorseful for my dealer because GM threw it at them, they are nice people with not much corporate support from GM,from what I can tell. They did their best and even outsourced it trying to get the best job done, so at least my truck wasn't forgotten about. Guess the whole thing has just blindsided me since it was going on for so long.........life goes on.
  2. Ladies and Gentlemen, I present you with a pic of Chevy/GM corrosion repair.....................I think I need not even say anything more
  3. for sure, just checked it this AM and its tacky gooey weird paint.......explain to me how paint adheres to wax coating ??? Oh yeah, it doesn't........so f**king pissed , never going GM again,,,,,,,,,,,,this on top of my CTS-v which had so many issues.
  4. update #8 Just picked up my 2011 z71 suburban which the dealer had since Thursday, Jan 22.........you guys aren't gonna believe this sh*t. I couldn't make this up. Upon dropping it off last week, I said over and over I need it back on Tuesday, Jan 27........message from service manager " can we drive it to you on wednesday morning" No I'm leaving at 5Am I need it tonight........service mgr" Ok, its at the Dodge dealership"( 15 miles across town, different owners etc,,)...........me, " you're f****ing joking right ?" srv mgr, " No, they are painting the frame there " So I go to Dodge tonight to get my Chevy, wtf.....The paint is so wet I can smell it parked outside, high gloss black in some sections, flat black in others, overspray on shocks , spare, transfer case, etc.......I only looked under for 30 seconds, couldn't even believe my eyes I can honestly say my truck looks like it was in a wreck and repaired in Tijuana.................Its going straight to Ford tomorrow to buy one of the few remaining Raptors left. I don't care what they give me for it, its over,,,,,,,,,,,,now Im getting drunk,,,,,,,,buenas noches GM
  5. Going to get truck today,,,,,,received a call saying its done, seems fast but I'll post pics later
  6. well, I will inspect when I get it, I told them keep the truck till its done right so I hope that avoids the rush job. But in reality to do it right, we all know the man hours required isn't pretty..........I've come to the conclusion my truck has trade in now written all over it..........Ive seen people already bitching about their 2015's rusting too, can't believe GM is letting it keep going this way, and no A/C in the new crew cabs is a killer........Ford won't give me crap for my truck, only Gm will give a decent trade so I may be stuck trying again.....
  7. They already forewarned me of the overspray possibilities.......I shrugged it off and basically said do what you have to do to stop this rusting sh*t....wire wheel it, blast it, get rid of what you can and then I more than likely will trade her in. I ll post pics once she's done, we shall see
  8. update #7 Went to dealer, met rep, he agreed to blast the chassis and re - undercoat it with something,,,,,,,,,,said there was no integrity of strength issues......( not yet). The GM was great and really went to bat for me at Santa Paula Chev, the rep was cool too after we discussed the issues. One cause was possibly during transport it could of gotten salted on the car carrier . I also was told the frames are made of iron not steel........hmmmmm, iron rusts a lot faster than steel.... We shall see, I left the truck there so we will see what it looks like next week.........pics to follow
  9. Update #6 Have an appt this morning at dealer, because now there is a corrosion guy that makes decisions. Was already told by the General Manager that this guy has said GM is doing nothing because I live a block from the ocean, feel sorry for dealer with that kind of support.........I have the TSB ( service bulletin to repair ) PI1056E.......So it sounds like if you live within a few miles of the coast GM is saying.." good luck f**cker, thanks for your 55K" Not sure anyone is reading these anymore, but I'll post the outcome for future "rusters" in need

  11. Update #5 Dealer contacated me yesterday after I told them i retained attorney........Was told there" really isn't a corrosion rep for GM"...So your service dept has been blowing smoke up my ass since mid November, nice. He then asked for me to email my pics, again, 3rd time since Nov, and I have taken my truck to the dealer so they could inspect and take pics TWICE !!!!!!!!! The good news is, they have lied and fumbled this thing so bad, my attorney is just laughing because its all in written emails........not sure what will happen, but Im so embarrassed for our great American automaker
  12. I have the same addiction, its addictive, might have to go to rust rehab, but most of all the chevy's i see have some form of rust. The toyotas, Fords and Dodge's seem to be lacking rust.......maybe because they actually paint their chassis and not spray some half ass goo on them
  13. something is going on......I've never had it in the snow, so thats out...the service clown asked me if I drive it in the ocean....ummmmm no, not sure where you could even get a car into the ocean in CA, too many rules to begin with..I live a few blocks from the ocean is the only thing I can think of. The crappy wax coating has peeled off all over the pace and heavy rust is sinking in......... I retained an attorney and hope Chevy cares now.........been waiting for an answer since Nov. 22, 2014,,,,,,,,,,haven't even got a call......
  14. Called yesterday and asked for their legal contact because I retained an attorney......... I guess you can manufacture dogs**t if the government is sitting behind you with 7 billion to bail you out....must be nice. 5th generation GMer and I'm out.......They don't even care, our fleet of leased Chevys at our family business is done next year, not a ton of vehicles, but 5 trucks and 2 cars isn't too shabby..........Ford will gladly take the business
  15. UPDATE..........So after calling my service contact at the dealership for a week and sending 3 emails, I got zero response. I called and asked for the SM, transferred me to him as he was eating lunch and he said he'd call me back as he was talking with a mouth full of food.He informed me my contact no longer works for him at the dealer, so I told him you might want to check his messages just a good business thought, duh. ...that was Thursday Jan 8. No answers no call backs, nada.........So Monday Jan 12, I ask for service mgr, get pawned of on the new guy who swears " he's the guy to resolve it " Promises call backs and update within 24 hours so the corrosion rep can see my shitbox of a truck...................Today is Saturday morning Jan 17........not one call, email, nada nada nada I think Im going to stencil the words, " don't buy a chevy they rust away " and park it the dealership today....... En route to Lowes to buy a sticker kit and do it..........see how they like this one. Santa Paula Chevrolet, beyond incompetent, never go there, mentally incapable staff..........Sorry to sales team in advance
