  1. I do question the "Real World Testing" protocols these manufacturers utilize. It seems more and more stupid things make it through to the consumer. Insert any common issue here such as: brake controller, leaking rear window etc, etc....I'm sure they sort of run them through their paces, but how some of the widespread issues aren't mitigated astonishes me.
  2. Well I suppose if its marketed as a Grill Guard, it did in fact guard the grill......
  3. How many miles? My 24 had some quirks when it was brand new, and have seemed to work themselves out. Everything on new trucks is monitored and controlled electronically. Sometimes, they need datapoints to function optimally. Regarding your list: 1. Mine does that too, likely something normal with an ABS self check at startup. 2. That should be an easy dealer fix. Non issue on my 24 3. I get that rarely on a 2 to 1 downshift, typically at stop signs or quick stop/starts. I think the truck is anticipating your next move incorrectly. 4. No valuable input on this one 5. I think this was a one-off occurrence where you confused the transfer case mid-shift. If the problem resolved itself, I wouldnt worry about it.
  4. My brother and a buddy both bought 2024 Denali Ultimates with those wheels. I will say this, they look terrible in pictures. Real life, they look decent on the truck. I would expect something more attractive at that price point in all honesty.
  5. Long story short, original order for a Z71 Sport placed January 2022 for a 22MY, Chevy couldnt build due to restrictions. 2022 order got cancelled by GM and I re-ordered a 2023. Chevy couldnt build due to restrictions. Got frustrated and threw in the towel for a bit. Ordered a 2024 Z71 Sport on October 6, 2023, it showed up at the dealer 11/30 and I took delivery 12/7. The price increases sucked, but the new front end, 10speed and interior were worth the wait.
  6. My 2024 2500HD Silverado Gasser took about 2/3 of a quart, checked at 150 miles. My brothers 2024 Denali HD (2500) Dmax with max tow, 3500 rear axle took over a quart. My neighbors were looking at me like I was nuts crawling under a 3 day old truck with bottles of gear oil and a grease gun.
  7. Regardless of the length of time, call your credit card company and contest the charge. They will begin an investigation and usually refund your money even if the retailer ghosts them. I had to do this with a dive shop in Belize earlier this year. I had my money refunded in 24 hours, and then they lit up the shop for their refund. Not a guarantee, but the credit card companies have a lot more clout to rattle cages.
  8. Lets just assume your trailer is sitting at 10% tongue weight, so 300#. Your slide in is 3037 plus the 300# is 3337#. Truck payload is 3477, minus the load of 3337 is leaving you 140# for passengers, luggage, dogs, bicycles, coolers. I'm assuming your slide in will have water, bedding, dishes etc that all go against your payload. It is safe to say, without a doubt, you will be over your max payload for that truck.
  9. The options in the truck will dictate available payload. Check your door sticker for payload info. If the camper is 3k and you want to tow a 3k trailer, I believe you will be over payload on a 2500 depending on configuration.
  10. Dang-it, i thought we were talking tires in here based on the title!
  11. Have you tried rotating the tires to see if the problem goes away? Perhaps you have a tire that is improperly balanced. It is also possible that a front tire has a bad and/or broken belt that is causing the problem.
  12. Who knows, I know the dealerships dont either. I understand the turmoil during the scamdemic, and subsequent supply chain issues. I would think this should start shaking itself out in the coming months. Fewer people are buying, and GM has to produce, so the scales "should" start tipping in our favor. But, supply chain is still an issue across many industries so the return to "normal" will be a slow one.
  13. I am seeing inventory improve and seeing dealers that are willing to deal, a little bit. I am hoping to find the truck Im looking for now that Ive actually seen Z71 Sports land at dealerships. Well, 2 of them anyway....which im sure there is more out there than that.
  14. Yup, original order placed January 2022, got cancelled from GM to re-order as a 2023 in August 2022. Stop order on 2023's happened in November 2022 for 2024 changeover. I havent re-ordered a 24 yet due to to stupid interest rates. So I am waiting now for the market to soften to lessen the financial blow to my trade-in depreciation and increased new truck cost. I am fortunate in that I dont need a truck for business or as a daily. So, I can wait this out a bit longer if need be.
  15. They are unicorns and supply constraints have made them difficult to order. Ive been trying to get an order picked on one since January 2022. I have recently seen two red 24 2500's Z71 Sport show up on autotrader. They are out there but good luck.
