Headlight Illumination Issues
2014Carbon replied to deputy's topic in 2014-2018 Silverado & Sierra Troubleshooting
Before (Sorry these aren't the best, i'll blame it on the bad lighting...): Gotta love going around turns blind, and hoping to stay on the road After (Obviously something is wrong): After (pass side headlight was not seated properly): Without fogs: With fogs: I can see now! Sorry I know the pictures aren't the best, but I hope they help. Overall very happy with this fix, but still glad I have the fogs. All pictures are low beam. -

Just had mine done this morning as well, really looking forward to driving home from work tonight! I did have to take it to a different dealership to get the service done, the one I bought my truck from still denies any upgrade available, even after I gave them the PIT. Took about an hour. -

Called GMC Customer Service and they directed me to a different local dealership. I spoke with the service manager who was very friendly, and stated they had performed a number of these TSBs already. She also mentioned they end up servicing a lot of vehicles bought from the dealership I bought mine due to issues with the service department. I'm scheduled for tomorrow, will report back after! Thank you guys for your diligence with this issue! -

Called my dealer about this twice, I gave them the TSB, and they told me it is not showing up as a TSB for my truck. 11th digit is a Z. Bought my truck 12/23/14, it was on their lot for months. Any other suggestions? *edit: Frustrated I called the local Chevy dealer, the nice woman on the phone said it popped right up, and she's not sure why they couldn't find it...I guess my service people hate me because I want to see when I'm driving at night. Unfortunately, the Chevy dealership said I would have to pay for the service since they are not GMC. -
I have a double cab sierra with chrome window trim, will trade for black. Let me know, thanks.

If you're referring to mine, they are black already. Came from the factory like that. But yes, I agree they look better blacked out on my truck. -

The wheels are aftermarket: Method NV 18x9 Matte Black. The truck is black, it's just the carbon edition which had a few extra styling cues and convenience package. -

I have talked to the dealer multiple times, and gm customer service twice now, I have 2 cases reported with gm. Both said they never heard of any issues with our headlights, but gm said they would contact the dealer and see if there is anything they can figure out. Even though I explained it's already been figured out....we just need to make it happen. Can't wait for an actual tsb or recall to reference. -

Yeah I just saw that, and it shows a poly bushing as well. That's definitely not the kit I have. I'll call the shop that installed it tomorrow to ask them. The valance/air dam thing is that ugly cheap plastic thing at the bottom they spent "millions" on developing to get 1/2 mile better fuel mileage... but once the truck is lifted up, with bigger tires I have no idea if it still helps or not. I could honestly care less about it. This is the kit: http://www.amazon.com/Pro-Comp-63235-2-25-Level/dp/B005GDZPD8 Listed for only up to 2013, but from what I understand the '14 is the same. It is 2 1/4". -

Haha thanks. Yeah that, front window tint, and the chrome trim under the window are next. I might just buy the silverado stock parts to do that one though... -

Thanks guys. I took my truck to a local off road shop, and that is what they recommended, and also what they carried in stock. I looked as well, iirc they only listed 2 1/4"? It has two spacers top and bottom. Sits perfectly level. Great ride, no significant difference than the stock ride quality. Yes. +18 offset. With those tires, it's the perfect setup for my purposes. No rubbing, trimming, etc... You can always go bigger, but this is perfect for daily use. -
