  1. The sides both had Velcro. Owner wasn't around, so I didn't mess with his truck. Lo pro did have s nice flush look. I believe there are other things to put the $$ towards. I'll get mudflaps and additional tie downs with the difference in toneau cover price. The truxport opens and closes easily. So much better than my last truck's snap on cover. Only criticism would be the corner foam that has to be put on; wonder if they'll stay on.
  2. Purchased a Truxport for $270 and installed it the other day in about 20 min. Went skiing this weekend, and parked right next to a silverado with the LO PRO. The LO PRO was nice looking flush, yet I wouldn't say $500 nice. Did notice some flutter on the highway, yet not enough to drive me nuts. Thought about adjusting the tension, but Truxedo says that will void the warranty. My wife was able to roll the cover back easily enough while unloading the truck at the ski lodge. Time will tell regarding durability and appearence over time. Now for some LineX and mudflaps.
  3. How much does the top rails cover the hand hole in the back corner? Is it still usable for pulling yourself up, or is it completely covered. Trying to decide if the extra $180 is enough of a difference to get the lo-pro vs the truxport. Thanks
  4. I get a torque bump on AFM transitions. They don't feel any worse than the shifts with the 6spd trans. AFM transitions are a balancing act because you want to get full power, yet make the transition as smooth as possible. Any cal is a compromise because the vehicle could be loaded or unloaded etc ... The V6 should have better AFM operation once in AFM just because it is a 2.86L in the 4.3/6 vs. 2.65L in the 5.3/8. The 4.3L is a bigger 4cylinder. My only gripe with my new truck is that any grade with cruise at 72mph, which is my typical cruise speed, bumps to V8. Drove to New Your for the holidays and averaged 19.9 mph round trip. Not bad for a 5.3L 3.08 rear.
  5. Just bought a 2014 Sierra, and this is my first post on this site. I've scanned many pages of this thread, and it looks like every possible tonneau cover has been loved and hated. Sooooo.... I'll clarify what I'm looking for, and maybe it will simplify my search. The reason I bought my truck was so I can load up my son's and my dirtbikes. I'd like a tonneau cover that is easy to open, YET allow both bike's front tires to be brought right up to the back of the bed. I use condor stands and tie downs on the footpegs, which relieves the need to compress forks; blown a fork seal anyone?? My impression is that the segmented covers will not fold completely out of the way, so I'm looking for a rollup cover or a folding cover with more than just a couple of segments. My last truck had a rollup cover that had snaps. The snaps eventually tore, so are there any velcro or some better arrangement? I did not like having the clamps to secure the side rails. I'm not looking into busting the bank, but in my opinion I know the difference of a decent quality item and harbor freight price point piece. My diffiulty is that there isn't a good place where I can actually see the items vs. online sales photos. Went to the Auto show the other day, and there were no accessories to be seen; except for a bike rack in a colorado. By spring time, I want to put LineX bedliner and a tonneau cover. Thank you all for your replies.
