This has been a nightmare for me. Traded in '14 silverado with no issues for a '16 that seems to be plagued with the rough idle. Dealership tried the whole it's normal thing at first. They did the motor mount shims twice. not willingly though. GM had to pretty much force them to do it. It drove fine for about a day and a half until the rough idle came back. Told GM because I had them involved, but they pretty much told me there was nothing else they could do since it's not a safety issue. Those that are waiting on the redesigned motor mounts let us know if that helps resolve the issue. I don't believe it has anything to do with the mounts, but I guess you never know.

Can you tell me what the idle readjustment is. I have asked my dealer about this because I feel like my idle is to low, but they said that they can't touch the idle.

I spoke to soon.....UGH!!! Now the talk is to fly an engineer in to look at my truck. What a nightmare

Well, my dealer finally took my truck in again, and I think they finally fixed my truck's rough Idle....knocking on wood and hoping I'm not typing this to soon. I was told they redid the shims on the motor mounts and added a shim to a mount that they had not done previously. I didn't think this was going to work, but I did not experience 1 moment of rough idle on my way to work, or on my way to lunch. Time will tell, but hopefully I can move on and start enjoying my brand new truck. they also measured engine vibrations and said they are now within spec. This took me over 2 months to get resolved. Keep being persistent. If your dealer is not helping you, call GM and hound the hell out of them. The way the dealer treated me once the GM resolution team got involved was a night and day difference. Good luck

Did your engine light come one with the fouled plug?

At least your dealership is still looking into the problem and trying to solve it. Mine did the shims and basically told me to go away. I have been back 3 more times, and they keep telling me there's nothing more they can do. I opened a case with GM about it, and that really hasn't gotten me anywhere either. I will be sending them a final repair letter next week. It is completely unacceptable to buy a brand new truck and have it run like it has 400,000 miles on it. Let me know if there ever figure out what's causing this. I would love to know. Good luck
