  1. if it's just a very faint click on slight steering wheel movement and sounds like it's coming from around the base of the steering wheel.... have them check the steering wheel position sensor... that's what it was on mine. Part replaced... faint clicking gone! Finally!!
  2. If this is just a faint "clicking" or a "creaking" that sounds like it's just below the steering wheel, it could be the steering wheel position sensor. I had this creaking sound that was only evident when I was driving and at first only after driving on the highway after an hour or so and then became an annoyance every time I was driving. Sounded like a creaky rocking chair. Also had a noise coming from the brake pedal when I stepped on the brake at stops when I would push the pedal up and down. Finally took it all to my dealer and at first they replaced the steering shaft, then a bearing, when they finally found the creaking was coming from the steering wheel position sensor. They replaced that and FINALLY had creak free driving!! After a year and half, I was finally enjoying my truck again. The brake pedal noise was a known issue with the brake booster, so that was replaced as well. Hope this helps.
  3. Subscribed... I'm having problems with my 8 speed as well. Tranny doesn't engage well especially going from park to reverse and if you give it gas before it's ready, it will hammer into reverse and jerk the whole truck violently. Makes you look like an idiot driver when it happens. Truck just lurches backwards. Also clunks when stopping or starting from stop. Also clanks between most shifts. This tranny was definitely not ready for prime time. If it had done this when I test drove it.. I would not have bought the truck.
  4. I have the same problem. Just figured that the dealer won't be able to duplicate the problem since only occurs after driving awhile and during minor steering corrections that you describe. So I'm not going to waste my time on taking it in. I've already had my share of "can't duplicate customers concern ". Let us know how you come out on this.
  5. Probably the flapper valve as rocknfire says. Even though I have the 6.2L, I have the same squeak, so I took mine into the dealer and their comment was 'some do it some don't' and the official reply on my service invoice was "no problem found road tested veh could not duplicate cust concern'. Even though I can hear it squeak whenever it goes from V4 to V8 every time. Dealer told me that if they get a fix for it, they will let me know, but as of now, there is nothing they can do. Hope GM addresses it soon though, I know it doesn't hurt anything, but just annoying on a nearly $60K truck.
  6. I am also having this problem. The dealer says that some do it and some don't, and that its operating as designed and since GM has not come out with anything on it there is nothing he can do. First new truck in 15 years, but I'm getting tired of the same response to everything.
  7. I goy the RetraxPro with the wide rails. Cost $1540 from TruckChamp.com. Love the way it looks and works well. Being made from aluminum, I feel better about security. Only had to do minor modification of the GM plastic bed rails Om my 2015 Denali. It cost more, but looks great, works great and secure. I've run it through car washes with all the brushes and just a few drips get in past the seal.
