2014+ Exhaust Systems & Mufflers
jeromecarroll replied to Escalade1979's topic in 2014-2019 Engine, Driveline, & Exhaust
2015 GMC Sierra SLT crew cab with the 5.3L v8 I went with the Borla cat back exhaust. I purchased it online from JEGS and it was $990 shipped. Midas Muffler installed the kit for $150.00 and the stock exhaust came off in one piece. This is the aftermarket exhaust, not ordered from GMC so there is no flapper. It gives a nice rumble when you start the truck but then becomes very quiet at idle. When your under power there is a nice noticeable rumble exhaust note, I love the sound. When the V8 switches to V4 at cruising speeds you can hear a slight drone if you know what you are listening for but if you have the radio on, even at a very low volume, you don't even hear the exhaust at all. This exhaust is Not the Touring exhaust that you get if you purchase it from GMC. It is the sport exhaust which is a little louder that the touring but quieter that the next up exhaust which would be the Attach exhaust. -
2014+ Truck Bed / Tonneau Covers
jeromecarroll replied to Green 1364's topic in 2014-2018 Silverado & Sierra Mods
2015 GMC Sierra SLT with 5.3L V8. Went with the retrax pro rolling cover in gloss black. Cover works excellent if you just want a secure way to store stuff in the bed. Cover looks great but you lose a 14" by 12" area in the front of the bed for the box that hold the cover when rolled up. You lose a big chunk of the short bed. -
Went with the Rough Country 3" leveling kit. My 2015 GMC Sierra had the aluminum A-arms and when ordering kit they need to know that information. Kit was $72. shipped from Rough Country. Midas installed the kit for $150 which included the front end alignment. Before measurements were front 36 3/4 inches front and 39 1/4 inches rear. so front was down 2 1/2 inches After level kit front was 38 1/2 inches for a total front increase of 1 3/4 inches of lift. Almost perfectly level !! front is 3/4 of an inch lower but not noticeable at all.

2015 SLT in Diamond White with 5.3L v8. Stock tires and rims 20". 3" leveling kit. Rough country kit $72.00 shipped. Actually raised the front of the truck 2 3/4 inches. front is 36 3/4 before, back is 39 1/4 before and after front is 38 1/2, back stays same. Borla cat back exhaust, bought at Jeg's and installed by midas muffler. Borla kit was $990 shipped. Retrax pro rolling bed cover $1,800 I like the cover a lot but it takes up 14" of the front of the bed so you lose a lot of space in the bed -
