  1. .....Or try these. Incredible ride and handling. Do some research and read the other forums on these coilovers! Also, call Alex, the owner and talk to him. You won't be disappointed. http://halolifts-com.3dcartstores.com/
  2. Just thought I'd give a review of the Boss Coilover Shock set I bought and installed last week. I am very happy with the setup, customer service from Alex and the overall handling these deliver. I had Bilstiens on my last Sierra and these are far superior in my opinion. Below is my review of the Boss Coilover shocks as well as the rear shocks. Keep in mind that I am no truck expert like some of you guys so I may have you guys yawning a little. I received the set within 4 days of placing the order. Before I had ordered them, I had several conversations with Alex because of my uncertainty with suspensions. As I said, I do not know much about truck Mechanics. I can do a few things but most stuff, I look on this forum first to see if I can find the Info. I need, however in this case Alex always answered the phone and wouldn't hang up until I couldn't talk anymore. Can't imagine what he was calling me when I finally did hang up . When I got the order, I immediately began to open the boxes. I was amazed at the packaging. Double thick cardboard, Styrofoam end caps in the box, coilovers separated in their own plastic sleeves and plenty of paper packing to guard against any possible damage. Same goes for the rear shocks. So as I unpacked the front coilovers, I felt like a kid during Christmas digging to the bottom of my stocking. I pull out all the paper, then I see the shocks. I pull those out and gaze at the thing that literally looks waaaaay to good to put on my truck, Then I push away more paper and find the shims, then some decals, then the spanner wrench, then the blocks and u-bolts. All of this neatly wrapped in heavy paper so that there wouldn't be the slightest possibility of damage. My point being, nothing touched anything else in the box and it demonstrates the detail and attention that not only goes into the production of these shocks but carries over to the very end user in mind. I begin to contemplate doing this job myself and remove my front tire to look at my existing Ranchos. I decide I can do it and have the drivers side on in one hour and the passenger side on in a half hour. The install went very easy . My truck is pretty much stock with the exception of a 2 inch level so I ordered the coilovers from Alex with a 2 inch level. After the install, my truck was evenly level and looked great with a little bit of the red springs showing. I should mention that these coilover shocks are extremely well made. Before I found out about these, I was looking at several other brands to include Fox, King and others. After receiving these, I can honestly say that these have the most weight and feel the most solid. Luckly down here in S. Fl. there are numerous truck shops around so I was able to handle several different brands to compare. I also have to say that not one of the sales persons in these stores spent much time with me either. At one point a customer began helping me and the salesperson walked away. I walked out. As I said earlier, Alex wouldn't get off the phone with me until he was sure I understood everything he explained to me. So my 60 mile drive today consisted of highway driving, local, heavily patched farm roads and some off road gravel type roads. The ride on all of the roads was nothing short of fantastic. The truck handles like a truck. In my opinion, Rancho shocks are not for trucks after having these Boss coilovers installed. No more dipping in turns, no more bouncing on every bump, dip or drop. Rebound is phenomenal to the point the coilover is almost trying to not let you know that you just hit something. Highway driving is much more of an "in contact" feeling with the road. It literally feels like the wheels are staying planted on the road. There is a bit of rigidness to the feel but its a welcome feeling like a truck is suppose to feel like nothing more. Although I haven't mentioned much about the rear shocks, they are every bit as amazing as the front coilovers. together, this pair of Boss Shocks really made me feel like I have a truck again. Thanks to Alex for all of the time you spent with me assuring all of my questions were answered as well as being apart of this forum. Lastly, and without exaggeration, I have to say that this purchase, including the customer service is really the best I've ever seen. The product is well made and well packaged and delivered quickly. Several people have replied via posts noting ways they believe Alex can "prove "his legitimacy" and his transparency, etc. Several of us have bought these kits at full price and at the discount sale price and all of the reports on functionality and other factors were all favorable so in my mind Alex has surpassed Legitimacy and transparency. We all know products fail at times, after all, mechanical load bearing parts take the brunt of the work and the load we put on our trucks. If this happens, I'm sure Alex will be there to do what he can for us. At least in my mind, I believe Alex has a great product that he stands behind and will be here for all of us, whether you buy now or later. I will definitely be a return customer.
  3. There are several real world reviews out on these already Also, they have been on Ford's for years. It's also incumbent on the buyer to do some research. I'm no engineer but I would bet the shock it's self is the same with some fitment differences due to one manufacturer to another. Keep in mind, this is a guy (alex) who owns, helped design and manufacture and is selling these shocks. All done in the U.S.. if you have a problem with them, I'm sure he will work with you. Everything made has a lifespan and there are always one or two in a batch that have a bad unit. That's where you prior research into the company comes in. Alex always answers the phone, will answer all your questions and won't hang up until your ready to hang up. When was the last time you got customer service like that on anything? Personally, I'm buying a pair or a set and if they go bad I'll worry about it then. Some things you just can't keep overthinking. And no, I didn't get anything free not a t-shirt not a decal, nothing.
  4. I did that and have it on video but no matter what I do, The system will not let me post it. Ill keep trying. When you shake the truck up and down by grabbing it under the fender on the drivers side, it sounds like a see-saw sound. Sounds like from the top control arm or maybe the shock? Although ive never heard shocks make noise before. Yes, their the original Ranchos.
  5. Apparently it's not letting me upload the video it says I don't have permission to upload the type of video I'm trying to put on there which is the noise that the front ends making I'll have to try and work on it later
  6. Just thought I'd run this by you guys since my dealer says they can't pinpoint the noise. It only happens when I'm driving very slowly as in parking backing up or just in general turning the wheel slowly. I've had the steering rack replaced twice already under warranty and that was making a different noise so I don't think it's that this time. I have 275 60 20s tires and I have a 2 inch level that I've been told is not causing the noise. 44k and no other mods. I don't know trucks anything like you guys do but to me it sounds like the upper control arms or maybe the bushings but when I jack it up in the front the tires don't shake or I can't move them or budge them in any direction they're all tight any ideas?
  7. Have any of you guys had any problems with your steering wheel making a "clunking, popping or ticking" sound when turning the wheel with these bigger tires? Usually when going slow like leaving a parking spot or making a slow turn? I have 305/50/20's and my electric steering unit has been replaced once already and now I'm getting the same sounds again. Dealer said the first time they thought it was because of the "oversized tires" but went ahead and replaced it anyway. He said if it happens again, might not be able to do it. I then pointed out two lifted Sierras on the lot with 35's on them from a company that lifts and upgrades the trucks and asked him won't those tires cause that also? Of course, no answer. Just curious though to see if you guys are experiencing this too. There was a thread on here somewhere where someone posted a bulletin noting that some 2014-15 Sierras were known for having bad steering unit bearings? Can't find it though.
  8. Ok, don't want to derail the thread. All laser practically in Fl. Hardly any Kband around here anymore,
  9. Not busting on anyone here but I'm surprised that people still use radar detectors these days. With all the high tech Laser and other speed tracking devices LEO's use, by the time your detector picks up the signal, they have had your speed already for a couple of seconds. The days of constant running radar waves is a thing of the past.
  10. WT used to be good but they are total garbage now. I have them In my 07 Yukon XL and they are much thicker than the ones the sell now. When I got my 14 AT, I bought them in black. Noticeably thinner and do not stay in place. The hold down mechanism in the new ones are garbage too. Called and talked to a rep, and after a lengthy discussion and avoiding answering my question, finally admitted that they are being manufactured now with less material. I would never buy them again. I have seen lots of advertisement commercials on tv about WT mats lately and had never seen them before. Maybe business isn't so good due to the change in material use.
  11. The rotor is removed, usually by a shop tech, put on a machine which has a blade of sorts and takes off very thin amounts of metal while turning the rotor to expose a new surface for the pads to ride against. Youtube it, there's numerous videos on how its done.
  12. Just had my bulbs replaced on Thur after waiting a week for them to come in to my dealership. They are much better and do produce more light. Someone had posted an actual dealer bulletin on here somewhere however I cant find it now but I did print it. I will try and figure out how to post it here again tomorrow so if anyone needs it they can print it and bring it to their dealer. I talked to the tech. that did my lights and he said that my truck was the first one that he has done. Nothing else seems to be affected on my truck from the voltage increase on the computer.
