I have a question the consoles I hope someone can help with. Trying to avoid ordering a replacement console that doesn't work/match. I have the top and side trim pieces so no worry there. The situation: My 2017 Sierra 1500 SLT came with a factory center console. The console was destroyed when someone decided they wanted the console vault that was in it. Dealership told me I need GM part # 84199890 replacement console to replace with the black interior with white/silver stitching. I would love to get the wireless charging to work as part of this ordeal. Reading through the threads, looks like GM part # 84288040 is from the 2018, and the wireless charging works. Anyone know if this console is compatible with a 2017 truck? I attached a picture of the connector from my original console if that helps. Also, pgamboa, happy to donate my original harness to you after I get a new console if it helps your services. Thanks in advance for any help, -SSam

The cluster that was compatible with my 2017 Sierra SLT 6.2 Z71 was 84166517. It was out of a Yukon Denali XL. The part numbers are crazy on these things... Here is a pic of the back of the cluster: Chris was awesome and I am so glad he provides this service! -S

Saw this Denali cluster on Ebay. GM Part #84201626 Best I can tell it is for a 2017, but you will need to research the part number and determine if it is for your year truck. The auction title IS INCORRECT when it lists it as 2014, 2015, 2016. Just sharing what I found looking around. Working in IT, I am use to standards and rely on them regularly. It's odd the GM vehicles (2016-2017) state they are Qi compatible, and the iPhone 8/X states it is Qi compatible, yet they do not work together. Which one is not adhering to the standard, assuming they were both under the Qi specification 1.X.X I know they phone is newer vs. the truck, but standards are designed to clear this stuff up. Reading the article below from the Wireless Power Consortium (the folks who created the Qi standard), it sounds like newer Qi versions should be backwards compatible, implying newer devices should work on older chargers. Would you not take the 2018 connector off the module you purchase and put the connector from your original module on it? Another solution was mentioned in a thread where folks were replacing the mat with a 3 coil pad but can't find the thread anymore. Maybe it got deleted for some reason... -S
