  1. I can't remember but did you do this after a shackle install?
  2. Im curious about this vibration, whole truck shaking, that I'm getting at 63-70 mph. I thought it could be the tires but had them balanced twice now and sometimes it goes away, i do not notice it at lower speeds.
  3. They told me many times its not the shackle hitting the bed, i got underneath yesterday with the tech the bed seams were folded back and got my fingers above the shackle. I went over everything you guys brought up to check while i was underneath with the tech, they just dont know what is clunking over bumps, and bigger mystery to them is the occasional pop sound in reverse when backing in on your blind side.
  4. Lol im at a 4 wheel parts store, they are taking the shims back out has alot of vibration, they do not know what is causing the clacking sound when i hit a bump they may install the stock shackle to see if the belltech one is bad. Well update, they cleaned up my leaf springs and for several hours it did not clunk over a bump but it's slowly coming back so i have no ideas but to spend more money to find someone else to fix this. Also truck is shaking like crazy at 63 mph. they installed 2 shims with fat end facing front and made it worse so they recommended no shims.
  5. Well that's not good, shop asked me which way i wanted the shims facing, I wouldn't even know, reading through the forums is of no help as some say fat end faces front while others say fat end facing the rear.
  6. Well if you look at the pictures the frame doesn't align with leaf springs, the noise is definitely not coming from the shackles, when i spray water on the leaf springs it doesn't crunch as loudly
  7. If you look at one of those pictures you will see it's not lined up correctly either, i did some measurements and it's about 1/2 inch off. The clunking sound is getting worse especially hitting a speed bump, i sprayed the leaf springs with water and no more clunking.
  8. Well i do see a bolt and nut on the top but on the bottom it looks like a hole.
  9. I've come to the conclusion that the shop who did the install is just shoddy, it's going back in on Wednesday so they can install 2" shims, but they still say they did not cause this.
  10. Has anyone noticed their leaf springs spreading apart after installing shackles and removing the factory lift block? Got underneath today and noticed all my noise is coming from the forward part of the leaf springs on both sides. Also if I shake the truck side to side hard enough you can hear them moving. I had the dealer retorque the ubolts last week.
  11. Well had the people who installed look over it and was told the noise is coming from two areas, first the clunking sound is coming from the leaf springs, their is a clamp holding two of the springs together and they are not tight, i would need to order another clamp to fix it. The popping sound I'm getting when in reverse and turning seems to be coming from inside the axle/differential, you can feel it pop when touching my wheel hub cap. Next week im getting 2 shims installed to see if this does anything.
  12. Visual you can tell it's slightly off but but compared to my neighbors lifted 2015 chevy, I'm certain mine is pretty close to being straight. Im getting alot of sounds going over bumps too, I'm thinking the shackles are hitting the top of the bed and are moving as i don't thin the shop who installed them tightened them with the weight of the truck on them.
  13. Well my angles don't look to bad and checked for anything loose along the drivetrain and it feels very firm.
  14. Ok i will check that out thanks but would that be even possible on a newer truck, i had them installed around 10000 miles and now have 11000 miles.
  15. Has anyone who has used lowering shackles and removed the factory block have noise coming from the rear of the truck, sounds like a pop or clunk noise, it only happens when im backing and turning or hitting a bump, went to the dealer and they said they found some loose bolts on the suspension and tightened them down but drove around and can still hear it.
