I know there are quite a few different controllers that I could buy can anyone recommend one that comes with good instructions?
-
No JL1 Can someone point me to a tutorial on what wires have to go where? And what controller I should buy Thanks for the compliment on the truck, 2012 I believe was the last year they made the extended cab with the suicide doors, I am the second owner, the truck had nineteen thousand miles on it and I paid $19,000 for it, when I saw it was the long bed with the extended cab and it had the cap already? just wow, then I looked in the back and there were four mounted studded snow tires LOL Thanks again
-
Well I guess that was a waste of time trying to look up there, doesn't one of the codes in the glove tell me? Thank You

So under the bottom of the panel? see a connector? So then your saying I'm wired for it but need to buy the control? Going out to look in the dark LOL Thanks

Chevy Joe replied to Chevy Joe's topic in 1999-2013 Silverado & Sierra 1500
Thanks, I will look in the morning, I didn't know there was a hole under back seat in the extended cab 2012 You must be a HAM or commercial radio operator, remote mounting the head I just got a KENWOODTM-V71A Dual Bander (with cross band repeater) Lets me park the truck and set it up as a repeater for handsets in the area Thanks for the info Of course, I didn't know there was a hole under back seat in the extended cab 2012 Thanks -
Best Way into cab with coax?
Chevy Joe replied to Chevy Joe's topic in 1999-2013 Silverado & Sierra 1500
So Grommet in the back wall of cab not possible? (2012 extended cab pictured) I was hoping to fold back seat up and drill there somewhere Thanks -
Hope Everyone is having a GREAT Summer !! I installed an antenna on my cap and need to get the coax into the cab, I don't want to use the Back Panel Vents, Don't mind using a hole saw, just need to know best spot Its only about 1/8 of an inch COAX (RG316 PTFE 1/8" diameter coax) It's a really cool mount from DIAMOND (K9000TM) that you can raise and lower LOVE IT !! Should I use Tow/Haul mode everyday?
Chevy Joe replied to tflux's topic in 1999-2013 Silverado & Sierra 1500
Then why are you asking here? You should use GOOGLE and search the internet...SMH The info I gave you was from a Certified GM mechanic that works for my local dealer I'm Out... -
Should I use Tow/Haul mode everyday?
Chevy Joe replied to tflux's topic in 1999-2013 Silverado & Sierra 1500
No reason to leave it in tow mode, not sure the higher RPM is "good" for the trans or the engine All the mode does is change the shift points in the transmission to make the transmission stay in the lower gear for a longer time. For Example (these are made up numbers) with it off your tranmission may shift from 1st to 2nd at 10mph then to 3rd at 25mph then to 4th at 40mph. With it on it would shift from 1st to 2nd at 20mph then to 3rd at 45mph then to 4th at 55mph -
Looks like the PDF in your post above works fine, If I am wrong Let me know!! Thanks Joe
