Its possible they changed things for the LTZ's but I would assume the lights are already set up to be plug and play when used with the correct harness due to the fact that the LT's down will still have bulbs.
-
The pigtail actually reaches all the way to the rear control module. Still possible if those connections are the same.
-
I'll try as soon as we get an LTZ or high country in.

Oops, forgot about the year change but still, it's been the same since 13, these are 16's that are having issues, again, R&D wont do a thing once the part has spent 3 years in production. Recalls aren't a bad thing. So many people have it stuck in their head that a recall is a horrible thing. Again, a problem fixed with no money out of my pocket? I'm happy... So far no recalls on my 15 either... Though, I did just receive a recall for my 09 GSX-R's master cylinder, again, happy they're fixing it without it becoming an issue or costing me money.
-
....the same part has been in use since at least 2009... R&D isn't the issue. Crap happens, the good manufactures make things right.

No car or manufacture is immune from recalls. It can strike anything no matter how much of a premium you pay. qwqIt's often times a supplier mistake that, from the outward appearance, looks compliant to QC standards. Case in point, currently the 16 Traverse, Enclave and Acadia are facing a stop sale due to a bad batch of window motors that GM received from a supplier, they checked out on the QC checks but it wasn't until continuous use, such as driving in a rain storm for 30+ minutes, that the over heating issue was found. But with your thinking, I guess they could just charge a premium and run every single wiper motor on a 24hr test....

I honestly don't get why people get so bent out of shape by recalls... they're a good thing. It means the manufacture is catching and issue and fixing it for free. Ever bought a product, used it for a few days or weeks, had it fail and just had to toss it in the trash? Would you rather that be the case with your truck? As long as vehicles are designed and built by humans, issues will pop up, I take comfort in the fact that a manufacture is willing to correct something before it becomes an issue for me.

Where did you get these? What do you mean "OEM built"? I'm not aware of any manufacture that ships this kind of lighting from the factory on a new vehicle? -

These are the exact lights that I purchased. You can find similar sets on ebay for a couple bucks less. I think I paid around $25 shipped. http://www.ebay.com/itm/2X-6-3-inches-Off-Road-18W-CREE-LED-Fog-Lamp-Work-Light-Bar-SUV-4x4-Jeep-4WD-DRL-/171735291054?hash=item27fc3894ae -

Basically there are two harnesses, one for each tail light. I tapped in the passenger side right where it passes over where I mounted the light pod and on the drivers side I tapped in right where the harness leaves the rear distribution block, again, right over where the light is mounted. -

I just tapped the harness right above where the lights are mounted so that they only come on in reverse or when you hit the unlock button at night. -

Thanks! I just used the mounting hardware that came with them and an M8x1.25 tap with the appropriate drill bit to mount them and since I lease my trucks I just vampire tapped them. No additional switches at this time. I'll have to look up who I bought them off of when I get home.
