  1. The modifications were carried out by a speed shop that I go to. It's just that my tuner is on vacation. Either way, that was my last resort...I guess I have to just wait it out till he's back. Would it be ok to drive around for another 10 days more or less with the current conditions?
  2. Hey guys.... Hope all's well with you all. I'm having a bit of an odd issue...and I don't really know how to address it seeing that my dealership already has failed on two attempts. I'm sorry but this will be a bit of a long read. I appreciate your time and would like to thank you all in advance for your time and input. I have a 2016 Sierra Denali with a supercharged 6.2 motor. Literally since the past month I have been facing a bit of an odd issue. Only during a cold start, if I try to fire up the truck using remote engine start, the truck fires up, runs barely for 10 seconds and then switches off. If I try to start it again using the remote it does not. Then when I get into the truck and start the truck by key, the engine fires up immediately and within a few seconds the stability control light starts flashing along with the check engine light. Soon enough the stability control light goes away but the check engine light remains flashing for a little longer after which even that goes away. However if I have driven the truck and the engine is warm, then everything including remote engine start works fine. This happens only with cold starts. So initially it didn't bother me too much. After a little while the truck would do the same as mentioned above, however now the check engine light decides to stay and it's solid, not flashing anymore. When that happened I figured I have something at hand and now can take it to the dealership for them to run a scan and see what the issue is. Please bear in mind, during all the above mentioned errors or anything at all, the truck has been idling and driving just fine. No issues/problems can or have been felt or seen physically. At this point I took the truck to my dealership who ran the diagnostic scan and gave me my truck back saying some hose from the supercharger was loose and so was one of the coil cables. They returned the truck after clearing the error and apparently fixing what they claimed was wrong, and everything at the time seemed fine. Next morning, back to the same story....remote engine start failed after running for 10 seconds and then the check engine light along with the stability light kept flashing and then both of them went away. I went back to my dealership however they were like there are no errors so we can't help since there are no errors. Now again this morning I tried remote start which failed again and back came the check engine light which is solid and has stayed. But again, fortunately or unfortunately...the truck physically isn't giving any problems....no rough idling....no admissible misfires...nothing...it's running just as good as any other day. Any idea or suggestions as to what I can or should do? I look forward to your feedback. Thanks again
  3. Hey guys, I have a 2016 Sierra Denali Crew Cab with the short bed and I've owned this truck from brand new for a little over two years now and have completed a little over 18,000 miles. I have a 6.2L motor in it with a 2.9L Whipple supercharger sitting right on top. The problem I'm facing is that it's been only two years and 18,000 miles on this truck and I have already had to change the front brake pads twice. Once at 9000 miles and the second time now at 18,000 miles. Now I know many of you may say that it's wearing out quick because of the hard braking of all the supercharged force, however I promise you...I do not drive like a lunatic, I barely race and the blower is often used in a straight line where I let the truck slow down on its own. I almost have never used my brakes when pushing the vehicle. I always made sure that I am on a long enough open and quiet stretch of road. In fact, I didn't even have a blower on for the first 6,000 miles. Is it normal for my pads to wear out this quick? I mean I don't even feel a thing, as in I don't feel any brake fade or any vibration or any form of braking power loss. It's always perfectly fine, however whenever I've taken it in for a scheduled service (6,000 miles and then now at 18,000 miles), my dealership tells me "You have 1mm or 3mm left on your brakes left" and I just don't understand how because as I said, the brakes as far as I am concerned feel perfectly fine. A friend of mine owns a regular cab with a blown 5.3L motor and he abuses his truck to world's end and yet his brakes lasted him 25,000 miles and then recently again he changed at a mileage of 50,000 miles (We bought our trucks at the same time and more or less modified the same mods around the same period too). Is it because my truck is significantly larger and heavier than his or are the brakes pads for Denalis just crap OR is my dealership taking me for a ride...?? I look forward to your feedback... Best regards and thanks in advance for your feedback.
  4. Waiting on my appointment with my speed shop to check up on the t-stat and now even the electric water pump. Thank you
  5. Quite confident that the first two points you mentioned have a “check” against them, however the electric water pump, that I’m not sure of. Any idea how I can check of it’s health and functioning?
  6. Will update everyone here once I figure out what went wrong.
  7. Thanks buddy. Will check and let you know. Didn’t think about the radiator or condensor being blocked. I mean I can see the radiator and it seems clean. Gotta check out the condensor.
  8. I had upgraded my thermostat not too long after My truck got supercharged, because during the installation of the supercharger, for some weird odd reason there was this huge shortage in the market on the availability of thermostats. I’ve had these upgraded thermostats before in my naturally aspirated 2011 Sierra and I could see a huge difference in temps, however when I installed it on this truck when supercharged...it did not seem to make almost any difference. The coolant temp needle bearly came below the 210 mark. I’m assuming the thermostat possibly too isn’t doing its job. Gotta check that too.
  9. Like I mentioned above, I don’t have active shutters.
  10. Ok thats a lot of technical points there. To answer your questions/suggestions and proposals; 1. Not sure on this, however I will be taking my truck to the speed shop soon to attend to the entire matter. 2. I’ve removed my air dam since 6 months or more because I, during winter, would go off roading and hence needed the ground clearance. However, what did change in the last week is that I got a 2.5” leveling kit...could that have possibly caused this? As in the combination of no air dam and a 2.5” lift at the nose, exposing more summer air to the radiator something? 3. I’m quite confident that both fans are running....over time if anything...especially once the engine hits operating temps of 210 degrees FAHRENHEIT ;-P And yes given the choice we wouldn’t leave home either...
  11. Hey there....no I’m afraid not. The 2016’s, at least here in Dubai never came with the grill shutters.
  12. Hey guys.... I've got a '16 Denali with a supercharged 6.2L engine and 8-speed tranny. It was a standard 2.9L Whipple set-up and I've had this set-up for about 2 years now. Last year everything was fine. Typical of Dubai summer, we had even seen highs of 125 to 127 degrees and the truck did perfectly fine. This year, we've seen highs of 105 degrees as of yet, however I have seen my temp gauge going up while it was only 94 degrees outside. I don't understand. up to 60mph, it maintains the normal temps of 210 degrees, however should I accelerate beyond, and I mean conservative acceleration, nothing aggressive from say 60-75 or even 80mph, the needle starts moving up and it goes all the way up to around 3/4 to the overheating mark, say about 230-240 degrees. Any body have any idea what this could be and what could my solution be? I've checked, I have no leaks and even my thermostat seems to be working fine. Perhaps a bigger radiator? What do you all think I should do? I look forward to your positive feedback. Best regards.
