Aftermarket Front Parking Sensor
Jon Kruse replied to Jon Kruse's topic in 2014-2018 Silverado & Sierra Mods
I don't have any sensors, just a backup camera. -
It's not that they are "active head restraints", it's that the angling of the headrest is not comfortable. The bottom sticks out even when I have it sitting as far back as possible.
-
Does anyone else find the headrests uncomfortable? I moved mine all of the way back and up and down and can't find a position where it's not sticking into my head at an angle. It seems like the headrest is angled at a weird angle.
-
Thanks for noticing that. Just switched the picture.

Aftermarket Front Parking Sensor

I don't think so because you have to open the app first. That's why there is that little button you can mount somewhere. -
Aftermarket Front Parking Sensor

I saw that one too. Looks pretty good except for the annoying part that it has to go to your phone instead of a dedicated display you can hook to your dash. -
Here is my wife's 2015 edge. She has a small 4 inch screen but it's much clearer. You can't really tell that from the pictures because I think my Pixel camera is doing some smoothing on my truck picture.

I will upload a picture of my wife's backup camera in her 2015 edge later. Same year vehicles but completely different quality of images.

Anyone have any good suggestions for a front parking sensor that isn't OEM. I just want something simple to set up in the bumper somewhere that tells me very basically how close I am to anything in the front. I have the backup camera so I don't need anything in the back but just want something so I can confidently pull as far forward in a parking space as possible. I've looked around online and can't seem to find anything really simple that is plug and play. It doesn't have to plug into the Chevy system at all either. Thanks!

Here is a picture of mine this morning. My wife has a 2015 Edge and her camera quality is 10x better than my 2015 Silverado. I've heard some people at the beginning of this thread or some other thread say they swapped out cameras with a new oem one. I might bite the bullet here soon and get an oem 2016 or 17 one off of ebay if I can find a good deal.

My grainy/blurry view is all of the time unfortunately. I think I might by a 2016 or 2017 camera because it sounds like from some other people that it has helped them.
-
Are you talking about the tailgate handle? I'm just talking about swapping out the camera. The camera can be bought separately.
