  1. My 2015 LT Crew cab has about 24K miles. 2 weeks ago I was starting to have those service Stabilitrack and service Theft Deterrent System messages popping up on the onboard computer (on separate occasions). Once in a while the car would shut down while I was driving and start back up right away, then the OBC would reset and tell me to roll down the driver window then roll it back up again to recalibrate the system. I brought it in to the dealership, and they determined it was a bad battery; it was not drawing enough voltage to those systems. They replaced it under warranty and everything is fine again...so far. While this was happening, I did notice the voltmeter gauge in the dash is constantly stay above 14V (around 16V) while the car is running. Now with the new battery, the gauge is show around 12-13V, like before. I'm no battery expert, but maybe that's a sign that it's going bad? Full disclosure, I have a Baja Designs 30" lightbar and Pace Edward electric tonneau cover. I was glad the service advisor didn't try to blame the issue on those things hooked up to the battery, even though they are not drawing constant power from the battery.
  2. Thanks for the response! I was trying to remove that big rubber grommet with no success. Didn't think about just cutting a slit instead. I'm very pleased with the fitment and the brackets are very well made. Quick test
  3. I just finished installing the Rough Country light bar kit with a switch. How do you guys route the hardwired switc from the engine bay to the cabin? I can't seem to find a way through the firewall. I ended up routing the wire from the side door hinge and underneath the weatherstripping. I put some electrical tape on the metal frame so the wire won't get chaffed. But there's gotta be a better way.
  4. I have a 2015 5.3L V8 crewcab AWD with 7000 miles. I started noticing the vibration/shake around 2000 miles in when driving above 75mph. The vibration was intermittent though it got pretty regular as time went on. I went in for the free oil change few weeks ago. I didn't mention about the vibration issue because I was in a hurry and needed the truck back right away. However the SA said there was a software recall for the 4wd system, something about 4wd engaging at cold start (don't have the work order at the moment). After it was all done, I swear the truck drives smoother and the vibration greatly reduced, if not complete gone. Not sure if it was due to the software recall, or coincidence, or if it'll solve the vibration issue that everyone else is experiencing. Just thought I throw it out there.
  5. I chose Pace Edwards Bedlockers because I'm too lazy to operate it manually. Though I wish it would close/open little bit faster
  6. I bought the Go Rhino 6" OE Extreme II sidesteps for my '15 silverado. The instruction below shows a welded nut on the front rocker panel. But my silverado doesn't have that welded nut! Can anyone else with 2015 confirm? http://www.gorhino.com/images/ePIM/original/684046-i.pdf
