  1. I wanted to post here to let people know that my electrical problems are back and way worse. My truck began acting up while merging onto the freeway and the stability control began trying to adjust the direction I was driving and was pulling me into the next lane of traffic. I decided to go straight to the dealer, but before I could get there, the truck completely died in traffic and was stuck for just over 10 minutes. It suddenly started again and I tried pulling it into a parking lot, but I lost all steering and brakes and coasted into the middle of the lot. I had it taken to the dealer, but I have no confidence that they will find the problem or will be able to fix it. I just wanted to post this just in case others have the issue, they will know the original solution I posted did not fix the problem. 2. That's my understanding, but I haven't personally tried it. I don't see why it wouldn't work because I know there are people who went from the standard power fold mirror to the power fold tow mirrors with no modifications, so the wires should be the same.
  3. Yes, it is 2014 LT I added the power fold tow mirrors Correct, GM part number 23154702 is the part that worked. I tried another switch that was mentioned and it did not work. The power fold feature worked by simply installing the mirrors, plugging them into the existing harness and installing the new switch. I didn't need any other parts. My mirrors now have the following features working: Power fold Power adjust Heated mirror glass The 2014 LT truck will require additional changes to make the other features work. I hope to work on those when the weather is warmer. Nick
  4. I got my switch today from CheapestGMparts.com and everything works as expected. I know this thread is for the smaller power fold mirrors, but I am using the power fold tow mirrors. I was following this thread because I was having issues finding the correct switch for my '14 LT. Thanks for the help.
  5. Thanks. That is exactly what I was looking for.
  6. I got a note today from the place I ordered my switch (cheapestgmparts.com) saying that there was limited quantity, so I needed to provide the VIN from the vehicle that needed it. I just sent the VIN for my LT. On the other parts sites, when I put in my truck, it says the part fits my truck, so I am hoping that will work. When I ordered the previous switch, they didn't say a word.
  7. I will confirm what txsierra14 said about the 705 switch. There was someone on another thread insisting that is the switch that was needed, so I ordered it and ended up blowing a fuse. It is keyed slightly differently, but I thought maybe it was just tight and forced it in. Bad idea. I now have the 702 on order and will have to wait to get everything working.
  8. I wonder if a connector isn't seated correctly.
  9. You should be able to adjust both mirrors, even without the new fold switch. Sounds like something isn't connected/wired correctly.
  10. The third harness is for MY14 and early MY15 trucks. It is a cross body harness that supplies the correct wiring for the turn signal and marker lights for both mirrors. The trucks built in mid MY15 and after included this wiring and only require the extra harness for the doors.
  11. Many of the sites say that because they have to order it from GM and then ship it out to you. They usually get the part in a few days and then it is shipped out to the customer. Email then and see if they can estimate when you would get it.
  12. I bought the three harnesses already. I figured I would start with the button and fold feature since I think I have the needed power wires. If that works, I will start the harness swap.
  13. Thanks. Do you have a picture of the other side - the actual buttons? I'm curious to see if it looks the same as the one I bought.
  14. I know most of the people in this thread are using the DL3 folding mirrors, but I am attempting to install the power fold tow mirrors and ended up ordering the wrong switch. I have a 2014 Silverado LT with DL8 power adjust mirrors. I ordered the OEM power fold mirrors and the 23154705 switch that was recommended in another thread. Unfortunately, the switch was keyed slightly differently. Like someone else did, I made it fit and ended up blowing a fuse. I am planning to order the 23154702 switch, but was wondering if someone has a picture of it. I am trying to determine what it looks like and if it will fit in the stock plastic trim like the other switch I purchased. Thanks, Nick
  15. Thanks for all of the info! That was a huge help. I guess I really don't know how often I would really fold them, so I am not sure it is worth twice the price. Plus I prefer the black. I would have to get the three harnesses which aren't cheap, but they really are a nice set of mirrors. Now if I could just figure out how to integrate heated seats using the factory style switches ;^).
