Great explanation. How come trucks arent made in AWD then? Or how come you cant have an unlocked diff in 4wd?

Oh...sorry to sound like such a noob, so people only utilize the 4wd when in snow or offroad? I have always been under the impression that most people have it engaged all the time. Stupid me. Thanks for the clarification! I feel much better. Can someone explain the last part of this statement: "The transfer case forces a 50/50 power split front to rear and you're feeling the driveline binding"

So I have 2015 Sierra sle with 2k miles on it. Today it was raining hard so I switched my electronic transfer to 4wd. Now, every time I take a turn the car slows down and stutters. It does not turn smooth or flow into a turn at an appropriate speed, rather it slows down remarkably requiring me to use more gas so the person behind me doesn't rear end me and the tires (sounds like the rear ones) squeal and stutter. Anyone have any ideas? Otherwise truck has been a pleasure to drive.
