  1. Hey folks- I'm looking for opinions/suggestions on what could be causing a noise coming from the front suspension of my truck. Truck detail: 2014 Silverado double cab, 5.3 2WD, stock 18 rims with stock size Michelin Defenders (6k miles on the tires). Truck odo has a little over 60k on original shocks/struts. When it first got cold here in Houston, near 40 degrees i drove over a dip and noticed a groan noise in the front end area of the truck...didn't hear it again until the next batch of cold weather when i rolled over a speed bump. Now I'm hearing it much more often as I roll over a speed bump or the same dip that is in my company's parking garage. It really sounds like someone stepping on an old worn mattress...that groan noise as the strings are being compressed. I think it's my shocks/struts but a buddy told me it seems like it could be suspension parts, like tie rod ends...perhaps needing some lubrication. What do you all think? I'd like to get it fixed while I'm off on vacation. I appreciate the help! Mark
  2. My new LTX are great, the traction issues on the SRAs got really bad over the last couple of hundred miles that I had them on the truck..
  3. I just changed mine out this past Saturday at 49,841 miles...went with the Michelin LTX Defender MS at stock specs: 265/65/R18. Started getting noticeable traction problems. I feel like I did pretty good getting nearly 50K on the set.
  4. I just dealt with an AC problem on my 14 Silverado. My suggestion is to contact Chevrolet through the chat on their website and get a case number. Be nice but mention that there are many other owners that have had AC issues and you are concerned that you could also be experiencing one of these issues that are expensive to repair. If they are able to help with "assistance" they will. Get a case number. My issue turned out to be a hole in an ac hose. I told the service writer about my case number with Chevy before they even looked at the truck and he gladly took the info....said they've seen a lot of our trucking coming in to the shop for AC repairs. Turns out Chevy did throws some money my way, which I was very happy. In your case, it seems like they should be able to check the obvious defects like a hose or the condenser without tearing the dash apart. I'm not a mechanic, so I don't know where all you're supposed to check. Maybe you could try another dealer if you don't trust this one. Whatever you do, contact the customer chat like I said above and give that case number to the service writer. Good luck!
