285/70/17 ridge grapplers back on stock wheels. No rubbing at all.

I went with ridge grappler 285/70/17 tires and 17x8.5 0 offset wheels. The driver front rubs the rear well when turning left in reverse. The passenger front rubs a little too. I ditched the new wheels today and put the new tires on the stock wheels. They clear with no issues and actually look better than expected. I have a set of 17x8.5 +18 wheels on the way. They should clear just fine. I only tried the zero offset a couple weeks ago because they were in stock and the others have been sitting in the port for 2 months.

Here are my current measurements before any level. With my math 285 should clear. FR 35 3/4 hub to fender 21 5/8 RR 37 3/4 FL 35 5/8 hub to fender 21 5/8 RL 37 3/4 Stock front tire Back tire to well 1 3/4 Front tire to well 3in Specs from current Michelin ltx ms2 and new ridge grappler 245 to 285 32.76 - 30.52 = 2.24 ÷ 2 = 1.12

So mine came with 245/70/17 and only has an exact 2in rake. I ordered a 2.25in kit, but now need to exchange it for a 2in kit. I don't want to be nose high at all. I wonder if the ones that have a higher rake (2014+ possibly) come with 265/70/18, or just the 4wd come with the larger. I have scoured the internet and half a dozen local shops and get so many mixed answers. I always thought rule of thumb with a level kit was to go up two sizes.

Average for me around town and highway is 11. Towing 10k to 12k pounds around 6. I always seem to pick trucks that hgey less than buddy's that have the same thing. I don't have a heavy foot either.

2015 GMC 2500hd cc 4wd 2in level, nothing trimmed and front flaps are still installed. Wheels are fuel sledge 18x9 +1. My last set of tires were 285/70/18 open country mt. They rubbed only at full turn, mainly for about the first 20k miles. I just installed a set of 285/70/18 ridge grapplers and they have plenty of clearance. After looking at the way the tread pattern is on them, I bet I could have fit 295/70/18 ridge grapplers. I'm bummed that I didn't try one of that size first. I had a set of those tires already waiting for when my new 18x9 +18 wheels showed up. I figured coming in 17mm would allow me one size larger. Long story short is that 5 sets of backordered wheels later, I gave up and just replaced my existing 285's on my existing wheels that were just going to be an extra set in my garage. I guess ridge grapplers must clear a little better for their size compared to the open country mt. Hope this helps the next guy questioning a similar fitment

Do you have a pic? Also, was there any programming to the head unit needed for this?

I'm just leveled. I included that at the bottom of the original post for reference. I want to be able to go one tire size larger without any fender or flap mods. I was hoping that bringing the wheel in 19mm would allow me to bump up one tire size. I can visualize it in my head, but just don't have it down on paper.
