I was thinking about upgrading my stock tires (about 32”) to something closer to a 34” 35” on stock 17” rims. This is something I typically do on my trucks but I was told by the dealership that it could screw up wheel spin sensors, abs, etc. (I’m not concerned about speedo changes) Anyone who has upgraded tires experienced this issue, or is GMC just being a pain?

I have found some nice ones on RealTruck.com.

2020 HD Plant Production
eagle4495 replied to Pate Services's topic in 2020-2024 Silverado HD & Sierra HD
I just talked to the dealership I had originally ordered from. Original production time again was this week/last week. They said my truck would likely be canceled anyways. I had to sacrifice a few options, but glad I got one off the lot now. -
I’ve noticed that the new mirrors whistle a little but that’s it. Also, finally got mine in off the lot. FYI for those with a multipro tailgate, check out tailgatefix.com. I am not affiliated, just like the product. It protects your tailgate from hitches.

2020 HD Plant Production

My original build was 4/20 like I said. The dealership and GM customer service said if GM reopens in May then I will be slotted for mid/late July (I don’t remember the date). They actually started to back out of my trade deal, then they shut down so I could not buy through them or change my order. I went to another dealership who offered me a great deal on a Sierra instead of my Silverado and let me drive my truck as a free no fault rental until they finished adding some options to the Sierra. -

Mine is TPW 4/20 and last I’ve heard GM is not announcing a restart date any time soon. Ford and Ram are restarting limited production next week I believe. -
Active Grille shutters and this winter
eagle4495 replied to Artie61's topic in 2014 - 2019 Silverado & Sierra
Sorry to bump an old post but my wife’s 2018 equinox has them, first real set of cold days with rain and they froze open (luckily open not shut). They threw a code (PO59F) and disabled until they were thawed and the code was cleared. A pain to say the least. Be be careful driving with them in freezing rain. -
Swap Silverado Controls for Sierra
eagle4495 replied to SkippyG4's topic in 2014-2018 Silverado & Sierra Mods
I've heard they are really small and quite difficult to solder. But for the difference of $1,200 I think I may try it when I get the chanceOr $500 in the case of the one you found I was debating looking in a junkyard and seeing if I could pull some controls out of a wrecked Sierra -
Oil Level Low Warning
eagle4495 replied to Kerrslight's topic in 2014-2018 Silverado & Sierra Troubleshooting
I'm having to do oil consumption tests as my 2014 was giving me a low oil light only 2,000 miles after the oil change. I'm not sure if 6qt or 8qt were added which could be the issue, but if not I'll get back to this post. My truck only has 26,000 miles on it so obviously it should not be burning oil. However, GM has said that the direct injection motors will burn up to I believe 1qt every 3,000 miles naturally? Also There was a recall on an oil cooler line a while back, but I've already had this checked. I've also disabled my afm with a range device so that nothing gums up while I still keep my warranty. I have the 5.3L V8 ecotec. -
Work Truck remote starter without keyless entry
eagle4495 replied to tjgor35's topic in 2014-2018 Silverado & Sierra Mods
I had a remote start added to mine. I think for just over $200.00 (had someone do it for me for fear of computers). I've had it for 4 months now and no problems, if you could do it yourself I imagine it would seriously cut costs below the $200.00. I had the same one installed on my moms car in 08 and it's still working great. It's not factory by the way.
