  1. Got truck back this morning. Faults again cleared. Found 3 codes in system U0140 Loss Comm with BCM, U0121 Loss Comm with ECM, U0100 Loss Comm with EBC. They separated connections for all control modules, inspected for dent or damaged pins. Then added Electric grease and re-secured all connections. We'll see what happens this time. As for the G218 ground. They did that on the first service. Appreciate the info.
  2. Thanks. They did check and tighten (cleaned ground contacts and used star washers to ensure good contact with frame). They indicated they did the G107, G121, G400 and G101 per GM's diagnostics. They didn't mention the G218 point. The dealership was referred by GM Tech Assist to GM Doc 4778218, 4372049, 4775768 for electrical diagnostics. Ill let them check it out this week and see what they come up with. After it comes back Ill crawl under with my service manuals and check the ground blocks, especially G218.
  3. Looks as though the bulbs weren't the problem. Got message again on Sunday. Goes back in to the dealer Wednesday.
  4. OK. 2017 LTZ 6.2L DC. Had an issue with Steering Assist Reduced Drive With Care message. First of June I get the message, took to dealer, they looked at it, said it was a ground block issue. Checked the ground blocks indicated by the DTC's and found no issues. Deleted the codes. Truck returned. A week goes by and the message appears again while driving. The truck goes into limp mode. Shut the truck off, restarted. message still there but no issues with transmission driving to the dealer. This time I had transmission codes as well. They took the truck for a week and re-secured the ground blocks with star washers then test drove off and on for that week. Codes are gone. Today. Got the message last Saturday. Got to the dealer yesterday. They kept it over night and called today to say that they had found the most probable problem with the system. Turns out they found BCM codes in every module. They cleared the codes but one was persistent. The license plate circuit. It kept showing a high voltage draw. I had installed LED bulbs for the license plate about 10 months ago with no issues (or so I thought). They replaced the LED bulbs with the OEM bulbs and VIOLA!! The codes did not reappear. The service writer said they cant be certain that was the cause of the message, but the codes had not retuned since the LED bulbs removal. So I guess LED bulbs do go bad. Who knew. The dealer said they would eat the cost of this one even though the possible cause were aftermarket bulbs.
  5. Not to be too big of a smart-ass. But you're posting this here because??????.............
  6. You don't really need a check valve on a normally aspirated engine. When the engine is running, there will always be vacuum drawing the vapors from the crankcase.
  7. Sometimes after alignments they dont have the wheel centered. In that case I climb under the front end and tweak the tie rod adjustment (equally) and get the wheel centered. My adjustments may not be to the tenth of a degree, but Ive had no adverse effects from doing so. Steering, tires all good.
  8. Ive got the 6.2L. I bought a new PCV hose from the dealer and carefully cut the ends off and used those ends with this hose and clamps. Works like a charm. http://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS-Performance-Products/555/102011/10002/-1 http://www.jegs.com/i/Vibrant-Performance/231/12276/10002/-1
  9. Don't think the conversion will work for the 16/17 Chevy's. Grilles and hoods are entirely different. GMC's work because they are ALMOST identical.
  10. Swapped out the 17 LTZ grille for a High Country one. Cleaner looking and easier to clean.
  11. Check with your local Chevrolet parts dept, they might have another number listed for that grille. I did find this though https://www.gmpartsgiant.com/parts/gm-grille-23488054.html. Not sure if it is actually available. I want to purchase a 2016 High Country grille for my LTZ but all I can fine online is a discontinued part. But my local dealer does have the grille listed in their parts fiche.
  12. Good thing there are no ground shipping charges associated with the above dealer.
  13. Everyone has their own preference for parts but I prefer the Mc G shackles over the Belltech. Mc G actually gives you a 1 or 2 inch drop while the Belltech gives 3/4 or 2 inch drop. Just all depends on what you're going for.
