  1. GM works with you a lot easier if you tell them you want to stay with a GM product. Once you start throwing around that you want to buy a product from a different manufacturer, they seem to have lower offers (from what I’ve heard). I already knew exactly what truck I needed for the farm. So that wasn’t a problem. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. If I traded in my diesel Colorado, it would have been terrible because of the repairs and the “ick” of a dealership having a lemon on their lot. No one wanted that truck. It was the best option for me, buy back was more money than the KBB on the truck at the time. I think option one is the one to go with if GM offers it. It’s a long process but worth it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Mine was air conditioner failure, sat in shop a total of 110 days over a two year period. Started the process with BBB and GM in early October 2018 - had a written offer mid December. GM started with the full MSRP - mileage = amount left applied to Colorado loan. Amount left from paying off the loan applied to new truck. You only get one chance to pick a vehicle so choose wisely. Once you have it picked out, dealer confirms they can get it. GM let me purchase the truck for “dealer cost” about $5K off sticker then applied the remainder money left to that loan. Finally signed and took my new truck home about a month later in Jan of 2019. I seriously signed more paperwork for a buyback than a mortgage. GM made it right for me and I’m much happier with my new truck. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I won a Lemon Law Settlement in Texas over a 2016 Colorado Duramax. GM did the right thing for me by doing option 1 and I choose a 3/4 ton Duramax as my choice option. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Just saying it is the old school of thought, diesels outlast gas engines in general. I know my tractors that have 12,000+ hours on them still run as well as they did when they were new. Everyone has their own opinion. And yes, DEF sucks. We have to use in on our large tractors and it’s a mess.... I can totally live without that crap, thanks EPA.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Yes, the old school thought is the Diesel engine isn’t broken in until it gets 100,000 miles on it. Yes, fuel economy will get better with clean fuel filters and quality fuel. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. No worries. I bet you will love it! At the end of the day, only you can decide what is the best fit for you. Enjoy! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I have a 2016 Colorado with the Duramax and it was a decent truck. I won the lemon law case on it a couple of weeks ago due to air conditioner failures. Truck is still sitting in the shop and waiting to be put back together, sat since Nov 3. I am going back into a Silverado 2500 HD Duramax in a week when paperwork is completed. My suggestion is drive one for a weekend. The fuel economy isn’t really worth it unless you get 2 WD. Mine was 4 WD and with two kids in car seats, space was a major problem. I’m 5’8” and I always hit the knobs that turn on the 4WD and it has harder to get in and out for me. Granted I am one of the very few who have had so many issues with the Colorado so I have major buyers remorse. I am not one to recommend it. Want better fuel economy? I drove the half ton with the v6 for a few weeks when the truck was in the shop and it got the same mpg in town as my Colorado did. Not too bad. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
