  1. My 2019 Denali Ultimate was built on September 6, 2018 and I purchased it November 1, 2018. Many say to never buy an early build but this truck with the exception of the front camera going bad has been flawless. Yes, there have been some software updates etc. but there have been zero problems. The 6.2 and 10 speed transmission work flawless together. After 14 months and a little over 10,000 miles, I am very pleased with it.
  2. Looking my truck over closely, I can't see where anything had been taken apart. Again, I really like this dealer because while on the small side they are up to date on everything.
  3. Thanks to this forum I found about the recall this past Saturday. I called my dealer on Monday morning and they verified they had the parts on order and would call me back to schedule an appointment when they got them. Yesterday they called and we set up an appointment for this morning. They said to allow 2 to 2.5 hours but the whole repair took about 30 minutes. Very pleased with the dealer and the quick turn around.
  4. Another point to consider is with the can bus on these new vehicles it can be a real challenge to replace factory parts such as replacing the backup lamps causing problems with the rear camera as has been reported here if I remember correctly. Also on the Ram Forum someone decided to add under dash floor lighting to his Ram. After installation it would not start. Removed the lights and the RAM started just fine. I added a dash cam to my 17 Denali and the TPMS would completely loose one, or two and sometimes three of the tire pressure monitors on the driver info center. Unplug the camera and everyone was back. The dash cam was plugged into the usb port on the dash. Go Figure.
  5. Here is a link to a website describing the problem, vehicles and states involved in the class action lawsuit thus far. There is also a website mentioned to check out. Hope this helps and good luck. https://www.classaction.org/gm-8-speed-transmission-defect-lawsuits
  6. TSB's and Recall's are not the same. Recall's are mandated by NHTSA because of safety concerns or issues. TSB's are just Technical Service Bulletins and lately it seems that most of the TSB's are downloads. I bought my truck from one dealer but have any work done at a dealer much closer. The first dealer called me to tell me that there were some Recall's on my truck and I checked the NHTSA website and there were no recalls. It was time for an oil change so I took it to the second dealer who checked and said there were no Recalls but there were some downloads to be done including the one for the parking brake. Sometimes I think the dealers use the term Recall to make sure they get you back in so they can collect the $$ from the manufacturer.
  7. Another option is to check eBay. There are a number of 2019/2020 Silverado bumpers on their right now but have small dents and scratches. But, be careful because a number of sellers are claiming their bumper fits 2015 thru 2019. We all know that is not right!
  8. How about a console vault with a combination lock.? Cheapest price is on https://www.shopchevyparts.com/cargo-management/2019-silverado-1500-front-center-console-lockable-storage-box-black/84081567-p-92300787.html Maybe put your fob in there and hide the key under the truck somewhere.
  9. The key inside the fob is used to unlock the drivers door also. The chrome piece to the right of the drivers door handle pops off and that is where the key lock is.
  10. The trans flush and service the dealer performed resolved the shudder. The shudder started during a trip to North Carolina so I put the trans in manual mode and dropped it to 7th gear and all was well. I made an appointment with the dealer and the tech connected a magnetic mount pizeo (spelling) probe to the drivers seat frame and the cable going to a lap top. They were able to verify the vibration and performed the service. It still would make a loud clunk when up shifting to 2nd gear while coasting thru a parking lot.
  11. Mine was in a plastic bag with the owners manual in the glove box. To my knowledge there was supposed to be one with your truck so ask your dealer for one.
  12. I guess I am one of the lucky ones but I purchased my Denali November 1st of 2018. Build date of September 6th. With the exception of the front camera not being sealed properly (and it was replaced in a little over 30 minutes) there have been zero issues with this truck. The 6.2 and 10 speed automatic are fantastic.
  13. I too had a 17 Denali and the ride is a lot better with the 19 Denali. My 17 also developed the shudder and I made an appointment with my dealer to check it out. It took 2.5 hours to flush the trans, change filter and reprogram. It still would clunk really loud on the 1st to 2nd shift rolling through a parking lot.
  14. I had a 2017 Sierra Denali and traded for a 2019 Sierra Denali. 17 had the 6.2 and 8 speed automatic while the 19 Denali has the 6.2 and 10 speed automatic which is MUCH better. Ride quality and braking are improved and some have said the 19's turn sharper. If you subscribe to xm radio, it is greatly improved over the 17 with no drop outs and a lot more stations to choose from. Went from 159 possible stations to over 400 or something like that. I don't know how the 17's and 18's compare in the xm area. Some have said on here that the responsiveness of the 5.3 engine in the 19's is better than the previous years. The chassis on the K2 trucks was a carryover from the previous generation while the 19's have a completely redesigned chassis with 3 inches longer wheelbase. The 8 speed automatic is being dropped for 2020 in favor of the 10 speed. Last point, I laugh about getting my ego fluffed because I get stopped a lot in parking lots wanting to know about the mutlipro tailgate and how I like the truck. Does it sound like I really like my 19? Oh yea, it was definitely worth the upgrade.
  15. You said that you had switched it on and off. Were you referring to the interior light switch in the overhead console? If not check the on/off switch in the overhead console just above the On Star Buttons.
