  1. Are the transmissions any smoother now? My 2016 Yukon Denali occasionally lags, then jumps/jars ... it's always been that way as I can recall.
  2. Got mine back last Friday. They had to replace the filter TWICE, but it actually appears to have eliminated the vibration. I was quite skeptical that this would have caused the issue I was having, but I'm a believer (for now) !!
  3. Monday came around and the dealer called me (meanwhile I'm "enjoying" the Chevy Trax I've got as a loaner, NOT). They feel that something is wrong with the transmission and are hoping that their planned fix takes care of the vibration... just my luck that it's just another non-related issue. They're focusing on the torque converter - specifically the filter to the solenoid (or something along those lines). Part on order, then transmission flush/fill and 200 miles of break-in. I should have noted my fuel level when I dropped it off!
  4. So, I posted over a year ago when I purchased my 2016 Yukon Denali. It's been basically fine up until a few weeks ago when I had the vehicle in for an oil change. They checked the alignment (screening diagnostics, in order to generate $) and said mine needed adjustment. I said go for it. Probably should have left well enough alone - as the sleeping giant has awakened (though it could just be coincidence). A unmistakable vibration is getting more and more frequent AND louder and is most noticeable when either holding speed or very slightly accelerating - upper 40's to low 50's seems to be the sweet spot/trigger, but it can also be detected for a very brief moment when the transmission shifts gears. I took the vehicle back in this morning and they re-aligned it and road force balanced the tires, apparently to no avail. Got a loaner and they're going to look closer at it on Monday. I can't say I'm hopeful. In the past couple of months I've also noticed a few quirks - and was wondering if anyone else had experienced this. Just yesterday, while turning into a parking spot (90 degree turn) with the wheel cranked FULLY to the left, it felt like a hard slip of some type - a jolt/bump. Lasted just a moment, but it felt like it really yanked the driveshaft or something. Nothing was in the parking lot to cause this. In addition to this, upon a cold start (in Florida, by no means COLD!) and putting it into gear and pulling out of the garage 3-4 times I've noted what felt like the transmission slip then jolt/catch and then continue on as if nothing happened. Not sure if either of those two things are associated with the problem or not - but thought I'd throw that out there. FINGERS CROSSED
  5. Yep - it just came down to how much I like the vehicle vs. what I think I can cope with. What I'm not up to is countless days of having my vehicle in the shop while they experiment with what might work. If a predictable solution comes to pass, then I'll take it in, otherwise I'll just use up my 39 months of time and trade it in on a (hopefully) problem free, or reduced, 2020 model !! Hey, when is the next (projected) model update coming along for this platform??
  6. So, I picked my my '16 Yukon Denali on Friday. It seemed smoother than the two I test drove, yet there's still a very slight but noticeable vibration (to me, not my wife - she just likes the roominess of her co-pilots spot!) It's very smooth up to about 10 mph, then it's like flipping a switch with what feels like a minor drive train feedback. It does not feel like a tire balance issue since it does not vary much by speed... but then again, who am I to say! There's no issues at (highway) speed in terms of the "back window open" effect, so that's a good thing! I went ahead and got it, as it's got too much else to offer for this minor issue to derail. Sure, I'd prefer it to be smooth throughout the range of speeds, but... Some other observations: > I really do like the Adaptive Cruise Control, though I'm still adapting ( ! ) to it. > Heads Up Display - very nice OTHER THAN when using it on a sunny day AND concurrently wearing polarized sunglasses (Rx). It's almost invisible !!! When clouds roll over, it's definitely easier to see. At night, I assume it's a non-issue (since no polarized optics at that point!) but I have yet to drive it at night!! Two days after getting this vehicle we headed down to Ft. Lauderdale to jump on the Allure of the Seas... in Haiti now!
  7. My vehicle is built and on the train (Arlington to Jacksonville), so it should be in by the middle of next week. I'll be taking it for an extensive test drive before signing anything. Just to make sure I'm paying attention to all the right things, please let me know if the following is what I'm looking for (and hoping not to find): > Vibration at mid speeds (35-50) > Noise at highway speed. Someone described it as the odd sound when a single rear window is open - choppy. Is that about it?? I only want this vehicle if it does not start with issues. THANKS
  8. I wonder what this means for a Yukon Denali which was scheduled for production THIS WEEK... Guess I'll find out in a couple of weeks!
  9. I've got a 2013 Acadia Denali which, though it has some specific radio/electrical issues, rides very smoothly. My lease is up this summer so I've been looking at the '16 Yukon Denali. Given that I've no interest in a sunroof or rear entertainment (but would like a couple of other options), I would need to special order - the dealer I visited today indicated it would be about 6 weeks to get one built/delivered. They were able to put it into their system today for transmission on Monday - though I'm not committed and have signed nothing. They only had one on the lot to test drive ('15 - 2 WD w/20" wheels). I just took it around town but noticed a slight vibration in the steering wheel around something like 40-45 mph, though I did not go much faster with it. That one also had a delay/lag in pressing the gas pedal and getting going. I didn't think much of it, but wanted to try another just to see if there was a difference. The salesman (well seasoned) just said that it's been on the lot for months and might need the tires balanced, but it's been my experience that an out of balance tire usually has a sense of more amplitude and lower frequency from what I was seeing with this vehicle. They just got in a '16 4WD w/22" wheels. I took it along the same path and noticed a very similar vibration - almost like a slow "buzz" feeling in the steering wheel. I could even see the wheel vibrating slightly (nothing major). My wife said that she felt it too, but she's just interested in getting the additional passenger space in this vehicle over the Acadia... since it was noticably more confined feeling than our previous vehicle (Armada). When I said something to the salesman about the similar vibration he commented that the roads around there were not in the best shape. I did notice that this vehicle had better pedal response. When we left I noticed that the same stretches of road felt smooth in our Acadia, with the exception of the actual bumps and seams in the road which I could actually see! I've only read a couple pages of this thread, but wonder if what I've just experienced is part of the reported issues that all of you are discussing. If next month, when the vehicle arrives, I take it for a test drive and feel this vibration - they'll just have to sell it to someone else. Thoughts on this??
