  1. Charlie, hate to hear your vacation troubles due to your truck. What is comes down to is no one thoroughly explains how this exhaust system really works. You can not idle excessively or slow drive too much. You have to let the auto regen complete its cycle or you will ruin the $10k exhaust system. I'm a contractor so guess what I do? Idle longer then usual And I start and stop a lot! My situation fell on deaf ears with GM and was left with no option but to install a delete kit and eliminate my exhaust system completely. Now my truck is a beast! I've increased my horsepower by 150 horses with a little diesel odor and a bit more noise, minimal soot exhaust. I have to have my truck inspected at a "friendly place" and I've basically signed off on my 100k mile power train warranty. But that's ok, I have a truck now that is giving me the max potential out of the Duramax, which can't be beat. I wished GM would have helped me with this issue that they are aware of and have done nothing but make excuses or ignore all together. I've been a loyal GM customer for 30 years and all though I have a sour taste in my mouth, I still enjoy driving my Duramax beast. Good luck to you and they don't help, consider the alternative.
  2. Well Anthony, I waited for Sadiyah to contact me back within two business days like she told me and I hadn't heard from her in 3 so I called her and got no where. I was only offered a coupon to purchase a new truck, I have a new truck and it doesn't work! Could you imagine the trade in value on this truck that doesn't run? I've owned countless GM vehicles for the last 25 years and this will be the last one. I guess I'll be contacting the Better Business Bureau and my attorney to see what my next option will be. I'm very disappointed in GM.
  3. I called GM Customer Care and talked to a Senior Advisor and she called my dealership. I called the dealership and they offered to take $500 off of the $2700 repair, still not good enough. I called back GM yesterday morning and left a message with the Advisor and hours later I still don't have a reply. Going on 4 weeks now with this problem and getting no where.
  4. Nothing!! GM Customer care called dealership and they discounted $500 off the $2700 repair they want me to pay for. I called GM and left a message and they haven't called me back in 24 hours. Getting a real sour taste in my mouth over this whole situation!
  5. I have a 2015 Silverado 2500HD and have been plagued with exhaust problems the last 3 weeks. I drive a lot and have 70,000 miles. DPF has clogged and had it manually regen at dealership for $300. Next day I had DEF system problems and had to have exhaust temp sensor replace for another $400. A week later, I now have a clogged catalytic converter and a bad indirect fuel injector. Dealership wants $2,700 to fix this issue, I put the brakes on this job right away. I bought this $50k truck so I could get a lot of trouble free miles but it seems as if I'm heading down a long expensive highway. Any suggestions? Having the same problems? What to do?
