  1. tyler, many thanks for the feedback. i encountered service riders that would not record the problem. after putting 100 miles on our vehicle and two sets of tires over a 3 day period i was presented with a two page report that stated 'problem fixed' but after a test drive with the lead mechanic even he agreed the problem was not resolved. after being told of an exhaust solution i waited months and nothing was done. i took it in for another pico test - the vehicle was out of my sight for 75 minutes when i believe an unauthorized road force balance was performed just before the pico test was done. i took it in again, at the dealers request, and they denied service when i told them the vehicle could not be out of my sight. you are correct, it's a machine, not perfect & likely other manufacturers have similar issues. we do have a pending lemon law case. my big issue is the bully trade practice behavior that i am fighting because many other people are treated this way and are just not able to push back or fight for what is right. i do not expect perfect & recognize errors happen - i do not expect to be deceived nor should any large entity miss-treat individuals just because they are large and can seemingly get away with it for a time. i know from talking with dealer employees, they are also sick of being bullied by large oem's - so the issue is complex & the bad behavior is real and needs to stop. will be interesting to see if gm becomes the poster child for this industry bad behavior - time will tell. our 2004 suburban did not vibrate & had 165,000 miles with costco tires & no road force balancing when we replaced it with the 2015 model which has had several sets of tires and several road force balances (not all performed with our knowledge/approval) - something is definitely wrong with the vehicle and the process. my grandfather told me when i was a young boy to not let anybody piss on me and tell me it was rain...:) large entities are made of people and must treat all with respect:) blessings always brother!
  2. gentlemen, please consider visiting www.ChevyShake.com to take the next step. i have been wrestling with this for years and am tired with the bully behavior that oem's use to make their errors our problem! the head mechanic at our local chevy dealer told me off the record (he did not wish to loose his job) gm made the frames too stiff & that normal road noise and vibrations are being transmitted into the cab... with other consequences. i believe gm is aware of this & has been for some time. I also believe gm likely took action in the mid-cycle update to address the issue. but this leaves all owners with pre-update vehicles with an unsolvable problem that can contribute to other problems or issues. one great question is when did gm become aware this issue was not able to be solved in the field because the timing of that speaks to intent and damages... hope you find this helpful & insightful... it's time we stand together to stop the bully behavior. we love our family suburban - it's a great vehicle! & while developing new technology unintended things happen - like vibrations that are manageable & forgivable - what is degrading to the soul is the deception and bully behavior - this must and will stop - when we stand together against it... go to ChevyShake.com and share this with many, many others...:) blessing always!

  6. there is a standard for dealing with part of this issue, it's called a pico test that documents the vibration. different frequencies indicate different sources for vibration (tires, drivetrain, v8 to v4 transition, etc.... ) a good dealer will do the pico & communicate with gm for direction. you should ask about getting the pico results & having them explained to you.... hope this is helpful. will post more details later...
  7. filing a complaint at nhtsa.gov is a good step to take - this will shed some light on the scope of the issue & possibly bring a better response for others as well. knowing your state's lemon laws is another good idea as certain guidelines must be followed to retain rights = proper notification, trying arbitration?, filing legal action... being polite to all involved goes a long way to maintaining respect & helping to ensure a good outcome for all... my 2015 suburban has been vibrating for some time. working with the local dealer has been interesting & hopefully will produce a good outcome to further the brand. our first (2004) suburban did not vibrate and had 168,000 miles when we found a new happy home for it. the tires were never road force balanced & we bought replacements (stor brand) from pep boys. not sure why our 2015 suburban is vibrating and hopefully a solution will be found - soon:) i believe gm will do the right thing for owners, eventually.
