  1. Check out MVI. Just changed out the same radio for a 7" touch IOB radio with backup camera. Their website is gm-navigation.com Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  2. Correct, but I am being sent a new USB port by MVI that replaces the old one and has Carplay compatability. For some reason the stock WT USB port can support Android Auto but not Carplay. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  3. After surfing the forum and learning of others radio retrofits I decided to pull the trigger on an IOB retrofit kit for my 2015 regular cab GMC Sierra 1500 WT with an IO3. My requirements for the new radio were Bluetooth, Nav, Android Auto/Apple Carplay, and backup camera. MVI helped point me in the direction of the IOB radio since I wasnt concerned with having the 8" screen and NAV would come through Android Auto/Apple Carplay already. Installation was a breeze and I had the entire radio and backup camera installed in less than 45 minutes. Everything works like it should except for Apple Carplay and that's only because I need a different USB port which MVI is shipping out to me as part of the retrofit kit. The kit includes: IOB Screen IOB radio Complete wire harness to install Overhead Mic New tailgate handle with camera New USB port Startup Screen Standard AM/FM Screen Google Maps through android auto Google Play through android auto Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  4. I know you asked about a cold air intake and a muffler together but this was pretty interesting to see. A real before and after with a cold air intake without the truck leaving the dyno. Skip to 8:10 to see actual runs Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  5. It looks great, I say yay. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  6. I know your not hating on anyone and I appreciate that. But I want to make it very clear that I bought these wires with the intention of sprucing up my engine bay and because I wanted to perform a tune up. I never had the intention of trying to state these wires would add some kind of advantage in performance by posting those pictures. People have shown interest in other threads about what the actual difference between stock and aftermarket wires would be when it comes to resistance so I thought I'd throw my findings out there without any implication of which is better. It was merely a recording of results without any drawn conclusions. Also I should have been more clear when I stated that my truck is running smoother that I also changed my spark plugs at the time of changing to these wires. So any change I did feel was probably a combination of the new wires and spark plugs, but if I had to put my money on what possibly made the truck run smoother it would be the latter of the two.
  7. That's a pretty impressive gain for only coils and wires. I'm guessing the coils contribute the most to the HP gain? Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  8. Your right I did make a comparison between the resistance of the two wires but never stated one was better than the other. It was purely a test I performed out of boredom while waiting for my engine to cool down to replace spark plugs and wires. And you must be an expert then since your telling me what you said is absolute truth. Other people on this thread have differing opinions from yours but yet I should just accept yours as truth? Excuse me as I go back to my former and blissfully ignorant state of enjoying the looks of my new MSD wires. Your name is pretty damn fitting by the way lol Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  9. I know. Even after I stated they were primarily for looks the "experts" still roll in and tell me there's no benefit to them lol. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  10. As I stated before I bought these wires because I like the way they look and they're only $20 more than stock wires. I'll spend twenty extra bucks for the looks and a more stout build quality that I know will last longer. As for the truck idling smoother I never said it was solely because of these wires, just something I noticed right away after the wire and spark plug change so it could have been one of the two or a combination of both. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  11. I immediately noticed mine runs smoother also and thanks! Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  12. Thanks for the tangent. I never claimed these wires were a performance upgrade or had any kind of benefit. I bought these wires because of how well they are built and because they're "boutique" as you put it. I think they look good. I've seen other posts where people wondered about the resistance difference between stock and aftermarket wires so I was showing my personal findings. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  13. I'll get pictures of them installed once I'm all done, I thought people might find this interesting. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  14. As I'm waiting for my engine to cool down to replace my spark plugs I decided to compare the resistance of our stock wires compared to the MSD Superconductor wires and here's the results: Stock wires are around 2,000 ohms and MSD wires are around 60 ohms. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
