  1. 2015 Silv. 1500 Z71 Might have double posted this on accident but Got the truck back in Feb. when the snow/ice storm hit here in Texas, on my way home I had it in 4HI and didn't notice anything then. Used the 4WD a couple of times at the job site at low speeds in mud and I never did notice anything then either. Well last week we had a pretty good amount of rain hit North Texas and on my way to job site I stopped and threw it into 4A before actually getting into the muddy roads and stuff. I drove on wet pavement for about 2 minuets and every time I gave it throttle it groaned, not a metallic noise just a groan or whirring noise. Put it into 4H and same noise not worse or better. Then put it into 2H and groan disappeared completely. I drove it slow and lightly until i reached the job trailer. I keep up with the fluids, I changed front and rear and transfer case about 2 months ago but had not used 4A or 4H since then. Fluids seemed ok, were not overly burned, the front diff was under the fill port a tad and did notice a small amount of buildup on the magnetic plug. Compared it to my 21 Silverado HC and a 2013 F150 and both are as smooth and quiet as can be although you can tell your in 4H/4A. Long story short you guys with the 14-18 trucks have any noises of any sort when in 4A or 4H? Did some reading and some guys are saying they do have noises and groans when in 4A or 4H and that its normal but im not sure it is, February feels like so long ago i dont remember feeling or hearing anything then. I jacked the front end up and spun the tires in 2H and nothing, put the truck in 4A/4H and nothing also, I did notice the front drive shaft was not spinning though when i hand spun the tires and had it in 4H but i guess thats due to the t-case not providing the rotation.

  4. Got it, ill check it out. I know it cant be stiff 100% but it seems like an awful lot of play. Ill try the adjustment screw but I figured it wouldn't need to be adjusted. Thanks for the info.
  5. Replaced my gear box, original had 190k on it. But the new one seems to have the same or just slightly slightly less play in it. I can turn turn the steering shaft with my had a good ways. I want to say that the slop is coming directly from the box as like i said i can turn he shaft very easily. Do new gear boxes need to be adjusted or did I get a defective or not well remand one?Pitman and idler arm/bracket were replaced also. Tierods are older but seem to be good still. I have them under warranty so ill give that a shot.
  6. 2003 Silverado 6.0L. REP started showing up this past friday. It ised to do it mabey once every 4 months at start up but it started doing it while im on the damn freeway. Today it did it twice in 30 min. Im one for trying to fix things myself so I went online and did some searching well ive tried everything besides replacing sensors and I dont want to start throwing parts at the truck. Any of you guys have any other ideas or should I start buying parts. Appreciate the help.
  7. My truck is a 2003 silverado with the jump seat, found a center console and all the parts needed for a very very good deal and its in great shape. I've been doing research on it and the swap seems as straight forward as possible. Only thing I cant seem to find any info on is can I keep the Bose stuff and put it on my truck? The dude said it comes with EVERYTHING so im assuming the wiring is coming with it. Have any of you done the swap and added the Bose stuff or does anybody if its even possible? Even if I cant im still going to swap for just the console, still would look great.
  8. Now I want to be the first to say you get what you pay for. That said, im really wanting to put a small "lift" on my truck specifically nothing more than 3 inches. Ive been modding my truck and I feel like the last thing to do to it is lift it. RC offers a "3" inch which includes shocks, uca's and the blocks. Zone offers a similar set up for about the same. So is Zone quality way better than RC? Any of you guys running either or or know anybody running it. Reviews seem positive for both. Considering my truck is a 2WD, I dont have to worry about CV angles but how much should I worry for other things. Lastly would it be difficult to get it aligned or does it just depend? Heres the RC kit: https://www.roughcountry.com/gm-suspension-lift-kit-8596c.html?gclid=CjwKCAiAjNjgBRAgEiwAGLlf2kdT5efE-SdLmnRoUdi53r27eUYxRJqvZpSB9UXP3pUtLLRIFZD89BoCt_IQAvD_BwE Zone:http://zoneoffroad.com/zone-offroad-products-2in-suspension-lift-kit-chevy-gmc-pickup/c1212-c1213
  9. Ok so pretty much just slip it in around all that. Got it thanks
  10. Ok cool thanks, so bigest thing is the sensors. I want to fix it as its not much damage and its my first truck, Ive had it for about 3 years so I want to get it fixed badly, although I have to wait in between 2-3 days for the insurance guy to come out and check it out.
  11. Ok great thanks man. Its my first truck and I love it. Damage isent muchbut I can tell the support is bent.
  12. So my truck was hit in the front rightside the other day and at first I thought it was all cosmetic stuff like the fender bumper and grille (2003 Silverado 1500HD). Upon closer unspection I noticed that the radiator support was bent on the outer parts of it and shifted the left side which was not hit. Im talking about the vertical supports on the outside of the part. Just woundering if anybody has replaced this on their truck and how hard was it. Im pretty good with working on my truck so I gusse you can say I know what im doing I just cant find any videos on it. Ill post a pic of the part im talking about. Thanks guys.
  13. Great thanks for your help man and yea the size im looking at is a 32.3 or a 32.9. Either way im regearing. Again thanks for the help man.
  14. Yea I mentioned im going to drop about 2 sizes. And to be perfectly honest even with stock wheels my truck when towing would downshift on hills were as my brothers 2005 Ram 1500 5.7 with a 4 speed I believe, doesent downshift on the same hill and he has 20s also. Also I dont think the trucks have a huuge difference in power. Regearing was something ive always wanted to begin with just never got around to it. Thanks for the input man.
  15. Yea I get you man, I may talk to some shops and ask what they think about it. Like I said im more than likely dropping two tire sizes since these tires rub. So I may just wait but ive always wanted to regear. As far as rpms I dont want 3k rpms either lol so I may go for the 4.10s. Any tunes you recomend? Im not sure on those things lol. Anyways thanks for the input man.
