  1. I had the same issue on an updated factory unit for my Sierra. I had purchased it from a 3rd party to get Android Auto and called them and they sent me a new unit and I sent them back the malfunctioning one.
  2. It is a tight fit in there and squeezing anything bigger than the H7 will be a challenge at best.
  3. I have the same kit and have had issues over the years. The biggest (but not only) problem I have had is the relays in the wiring harness. They use cheap foreign relays which tend to go bad quickly. I replaced the cheap relays with Bosch 0332019103. It is a direct replacement and I haven't had issues with relays since. They do have a 5 year warranty on parts and have replaced 1 ballast computer and both bulbs when 1 bulb went out.
  4. I assume that you have stock 20" wheels. If so, Michelin - X LT A/S from Costco (Sam's club may carry them as well) have been great tires. I switched the goodyears off at around 35000 miles and replaced with these Michelins. I'm up to 77000 miles and still a good bit of tread left. They are quieter and better traction too.
  5. Well, I drove to the grocery store yesterday and the chime went away. Whatever it was, it corrected itself. It did repeat the first day when I let the truck sit for a bit and then drove around the block. Thanks for the suggestions.
  6. Nope. It was in the console where I normally keep it.
  7. Today I was driving along and all of a sudden, a chime starts going off the whole time the truck is in motion. There is nothing in the driver information screen or warning lights to indicate what the problem is. I tried turning the truck off and letting it sit for a while to see if it would go away. It didn't go away. It only goes off when in motion. It does stop when the truck is stopped. Another forum indicated that it could be emergency brake activated but I checked that and it is off. Could someone shed some light on what might be causing this? Constant chime is annoying!
  8. Same. My 2014 Sierra used to slide on wet roads. Got the Costco Michelins when Goodyears had about 35000 on them. I have over 40000 on the Michelins and at least 1/3 of tread left and haven't slid since. These tires are great!
  9. I have the Morimoto lights in my 2014 as well. The problem is the cheap chinese relays they put into the wiring harness. Mine have gone out several times and with the exception of 1 time, where it was the ballast, it was the relays. I finally replaced both relays with Bosch relays and haven't had an issue since. https://www.amazon.com/Bosch-Automotive-0332019103-Normal-Relays/dp/B004Z0VX4S/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=bosch+relay+4-pin&qid=1576867047&sr=8-4
  10. I got this code this morning and also noticed the hard shifts. Taking it in in a couple days.
  11. My next door neighbor is the service manager at one of the local GMC dealerships. He has always been pretty straight with me about issues that are common. I saw him this morning as we were both leaving for work and discussed the issue briefly. He mentioned the GM bulletin about the oil consumption issue and said he would get it for me. Basically, it says the oil consumption is normal up to a point and I think mine is currently borderline at that point, if not over. He said the way to fix it is replace the rings/pistons. The rings get compressed into the pistons in these engines and don't spring back out all the way therefore allowing oil and fuel blow by around the rings. I asked ballpark price to do that and he said $3k. Ouch. My drivetrain warranty expired last week!
  12. Correct on both. I have considered both and will probably do both eventually but I have just put it off. Since oil consumption seems to be going up, may need to consider going ahead with it sooner than later.
