  1. To wrap up this story, I bought a 2016 Silverado 1500 LTZ midnight edition. My old truck was an LT and pretty loaded, but the LTZ has some upgrades I'm pretty happy with like the memory seats/mirrors and A/C seats, navigation is nice but almost useless with android auto. I've had the new truck for a few days and I'm really happy with it. I tinted the windows and added my old tonneau cover. I'm going to either level it or lift it, still undecided, after a trip to Indianapolis this weekend I'm not sure if I could fit in a parking garage with a 3.5" lift.
  2. Update: After several days of back and forth, insurance has agreed to pay $31,850. I decided to replace my truck with a used one. I've searched and searched up to 300 miles from my home and only found 4 or 5 black trucks that were stock factory matches to my truck. Out of those 5 trucks only 2 had a clean car fax report, both were asking around S32,500. The trucks must be selling because the dealers weren't willing to do much on the price. My tuck had 70,000 miles on it, the trucks I'm looking at have around 30,000 miles. Basically I'm giving up my level, custom rims and off road tires for mileage. Is that an fair thing to do, I don't thinks so. I believe I could of sold my truck for $34,000 with high miles the way it sat. I took really good care of it and it was clean. It's hard to put a price on a truck that has been customized, I've learned insurance really doesn't care or value after market parts. Currently I'm working on a deal for a used truck, once it's complete I'll update this thread.
  3. I'm glad my wife & kids were in my truck and not her late model trail blazer. The truck did it's job and kept them safe!
  4. Insurance wants to total it. They offered me $28,500. Seems way low, I can't find a stock '16 comparable to my truck for that price. They didn't ask me what options I have and they based their offer on a lesser truck than i own. I sent them an NADA quote for my fully loaded truck and their assessment was around $34,000, not counting my level, custom rims/tires, tinted windows, etc... Sent from my LM-G710VM using Tapatalk
  5. What you wrote seems spot on. My estimate for repair were very close to your thoughts. Sounds like you've done this a time or two.
  6. The dealership contacted me today and told me, they estimated repairs to be $19,650. I have not heard from my insurance company yet. Hopefully I'll hear from them in the next couple days. At this point I'm so confused, I don't know if I want them to cut me a check of just repair it. I got a really good deal on my truck when I bought it, at this time I'm not finding any smoking hot deals out there. I do like the new Trail Boss package, it's basically the upgrades I did to my truck when I bought it, level, oversized tires, & blacked out rims. I just miss my truck...
  7. Thanks for all the responses. I will keep you updated when I find out what their going to do. I'm hoping to hear something pretty quick, but who knows. I just paid the truck off back in March and my plan was to keep the truck as long as it runs. I don't normally buy new vehicles so my plan was to keep this one for a long time. Hopefully if it's repaired it will be as good as new, but in the back of my mind I'll always wonder if something goes wrong will it be due to the accident. I've been really happy with the truck, I'm hoping to get it back soon. I already miss it.
  8. Do you think it will be totaled? Everyone is okay, my wife was driving with my 3 kids. They're all shook up and a little sore but not a single scratch on anyone. Side air bag curtains deployed. The other driver was driving an Equinox and he's okay as well.
  9. Update, my dealer took care of the cost. I'm at 60,000 miles, I was happy they were able to take care of it for me. Truthfully, I didn't expect them to but was very happy they did. That's the kind of service that earns loyal customers, other dealers should take notice.
  10. I've had this issue now for several months. I told the dealer what it was doing but it would come and go, they were never able to witness it. I finally had the issue and took it to the shop while it was happening, they told me I was getting 12psi and should be getting 27psi from the vacuum pump. It's getting replaced next week, but now I'm wondering if they will replace everything or just the pump. I have 60,000 miles on my truck, the shop worked with me under some program, original quote was $575 now reduced to $110.
  11. I appreciate your feedback. Thanks Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  12. Did you keep the factory air filter and box? It appears that you did. If so did it change the sound of the motor? I'm considering this as a future mod and hoping it will make the truck growl a little more.... Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  13. I do have the 5.3. I wouldn't say I noticed any stress on the truck when I switched tires. My gas mileage is another story, I now average about 16 mpg. I was getting closer to 19 mpg stock pre level and 33" tires. I'm not complaining, I'm very happy with my truck. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
