I'd rather have it on the front passenger seat than right there!!! -
Cylinder Deactivation Issues?
dorkweed replied to VeronaGMC's topic in 2014 - 2019 Silverado & Sierra
Not if you use one of these handy things..........................http://www.ebay.com/itm/OBD-2-Cord-16-Pin-Cable-Power-Switch-M-F-Right-Angle-ODB-II-Diagnostic-Splitter-/291761971818 -
If you see it only on 1 side and not the other...............something is terribly wrong. 1/2inch on drivers sider should be same on passenger side.

Cylinder Deactivation Issues?
dorkweed replied to VeronaGMC's topic in 2014 - 2019 Silverado & Sierra
I use the Range AFM delete on Interstate trips....................I'm leary of AFM to function much more than 100,000 miles effectively. And I don't like the idea of cylinders not firing/coasting along................as I believe the engine will wear in/out unevenly over time. That said; if I keep my speeds under 70mph on the Interstates, I can still pull 21-22+mpg (HAND CALCULATED FOR THE WHOLE TANK) in 100% V-8 mode. One trip running North on I-95 from FL thru GA thru SC; I pulled 22+mpg running 80+mph with a 10-15mph wind at my back............it's a rare occurrence that I have the wind at my back when traveling.............took advantage of it there!!! -
The lighter and stiffer you make anything.................the more prone it'll be to vibration/resonanance vibration/bump/shimmy etc.

dorkweed replied to bakerk2's topic in 2014 - 2019 Silverado & Sierra
Many pintle hitch mounts are 2.5". You can buy a sleeve that will neck it down to 2" so that you ball hitch will fit without slop. -

K&N = SUCK IMHO, you could be pulling oil vapor and fine dirt from the POS K&N and that's why your throttle body looked so bad. I've almost 23,000 miles on my truck. Only mods are Range AFM delete, Elite basic catch can, and rear air bags. Bought truck on July 13, 2016...............almost 1 year old.................my intake looks pristine...........almost new. -

If'n you've got black sticky crap on/in there; it's most likely oil vapors mixing with the very fine dirt particles the air filter doesn't get settling there. Makes me glad I run a catch can to minimize this!! -

Let's not forget the few asshats here that claim 25+mpg running 80mph; and the one that claims almost 30mpg.

Chrome rims peeling
dorkweed replied to cmysstailights's topic in 2014-2018 Silverado & Sierra Troubleshooting
Have you gone to any effort to protect the rims???? Wash, wax.......whatever??? Passenger seat.................is your significant other a fat body that slides into and off of the seat??? -
10.5 month old truck with 20,2xx miles on her now..................zero oil consumption. I run in M5 around suburbia and use the "Range" device to lock out AFM on longer highway runs.
