  1. AH, didn't see the difference between the 2. You shouldn't have a problem. The Jeep is lighter weight and less wind resistance.
  2. https://www.tfltruck.com/2020/02/small-medium-or-large-whats-the-best-truck-for-you-gladiator-vs-silverado-vs-f-250-towing-mpg-comparison-video/ TFL Trucks did a test of Trail Boss.
  3. Think we swapped messages about tires some time back. You live in Swartz Creek? Saw your  post about replacing Bilstein 5100 shocks for GM black. Which GM shock are you referring to? You have the NHT (?) suspension?

I have a 16 1500 Z71 and need to ditch the stock Rancho's. 170 pages on one thread about the 5100 being so great but I am apprehensive.

Hey there! Yes I think we swapped tires and maybe wheels. I've done that a few times. I do have the NHT suspension with the black factory shocks. I have reinstalled the black shocks to get a smoother ride but trailering was much better  with the Bilsteins.

  4. That is what I have read. A few on the forum have said the 5100 ride harsh at max setting. I would only go 3rd from bottom at most. Planned on getting the 4600 and maybe a 1" or 1.5 " spacer but a guy at SD Springs suggested the 5100 for a smoother ride and would handle the load when I have my trailer hooked up.
  5. Like Snocamo said, my cart at 4WP came to $353 with the discount code. Trying to decide between the 5100 and 4600.
  6. How do you like the 4600? trying to decide between those and the 5100
  7. I wouldn't go higher than the 3rd ring from the bottom as I have read some saying it produced a harsh ride from the spring preload. I don't care about a lift. Plan on staying with the stock 18" tires. The 4600 was my first choice but a dealer recommended the 5100 as the 4600 would be a stiffer ride, according to him. It's all subjective I guess. Found a leveling thread. According to some, the valving on both 4600 and 5100 are the same. Different color and the 5100 is front adjustable as you stated.
  8. I have them in the cart ready to pull the trigger. Checking the thread for feedback. Truck is stock. Wouldn't mind a slight rise in the front. One seller suggested the 5100 for best ride and handle the towing.
  9. I have a 2016 1500 Z71. The biggest issue I have with the Ranchos is the bouncing when I go over a dip in the road. It's really bad when I have the travel trailer hooked up. I have tried different settings on the WD hitch bars to no avail. Was thinking about the Bilstien 4600 like I had on the old Z71 from the factory but was told to go with the 5100 for the ride and handling when towing.
  10. Not as drastic as some of the others but things I have done to mine. Blacked out the bowties on the wheels and steering wheel (grill bowtie is factory) Debadged the doors and tailgate Plastidipped the chrome "skid plate" below the bumper. Will paint to match next year Applied light smoke vinyl to the running lights. Tones done the orange but may need dark Put real skid plates underneath to replace the plastic from the factory
  11. Son in law has a 2016 with same drive train. He has the trans issue but not the shake or vibration.
  12. The $289 my dealer charges is a bargain compared to that! If you have the time, doing it yourself is the way to go.
  13. Any issues with being pulled over for your window tint? I am a fellow Michigander and wondered. Beautiful truck BTW! I was wondering the same thing.
