I have no doubt GM knows what the cause of the shake is, but they aren't talking. Not talking because the fix is likely both involved and expensive. Sorry but I have no suggestions on how to fix the shake.

2016 Silverado Z71; Problem is, when on "auto" mode the blower motor seems to stay on its highest setting, even after the cab temperature reaches the temp I set it at. I'm able to manually adjust/slow the motor down by just turning the fan speed down with the knob. I know, minor problem, I think (and hope). The fan speed would slow down automatically up until about a week ago. Question is, is there some setting, a procedure, easy cure for this glitch, or is there a sensor or something else that needs to be replaced? Any help or input is appreciated!

Thanks for that info Pinnacle. My '16 Silverado 5.3 has the shake. Comes in starting in the low 70 MPH range. Is there a part number or item number for the Mobile 1 trans fluid that you mention? Also, can an independent shop do the fluid flush, or does the truck need to be plugged into a dealer/GM computer for a reflash after the flush is completed. I'd like to avoid the dealer if possible due to no to little faith in their abilities. Thanks again

Regarding TSB 18-NA-355... My truck is a 2016 Silverado and just out of warrantee time wise, but with just over 35K miles. Would the TSB mentioned still apply, would GM do the fluid upgrade free of charge?

Little to no doubt GM knows what the cause or causes of the shake is. It's likely an expensive fix, so they choose to thumb their nose at the buyer/customer and ignore the problem.... shame on GM, especially after the bail out. GM sucks, plain & simple. I know two people who got rid of their GM trucks and went to another brand and are quite pleased with their move. Funny, in a recent mailing/sales pitch I received from GM they had a bunch of verbiage regarding how they plan to, for lack of better words, get on the "woke" band wagon. Very impressive that they indicate how much they care, when they really don't. Rant over...

I did the same soon after buying my 5.3. I don't remember if it made it to triple digits or not. If so, it must not have been very memorable. Do it!!... get the darn tuner LOL. I have a set of cams sitting here waiting to get them installed in my Indian motorcycle. I'd install them myself but a "special tool" that costs $450.00 is required. It's less than 1/2 that amount to have a dealer install the cams, 1.5 to 2 hour job as I understand it. Funny you mention tuner, earlier today I ordered a tuner for the Indian from Fuelmoto. The cams and tuner won't make it a rocket ship, especially by todays standards. But it will have additional low end grunt, and should get the ol' adrenaline flowing. Don't let the kids have all the fun ?

Yes, very similar indeed. My 1st new truck was a 1974 1/2 ton, straight 6, 3 on the tree, AM, but with no AC, no power nuth'n, and 2WD. 1st visit was to my parents house to take dear old Dad for a ride. Trucks & Blazers and the like were not as much of a status symbol back then, most actually worked for a living. At least mine did. I was the only one in my circle of friends with a PU truck. I've driven full size trucks 99% of the time since my early to mid 20s, for about 45 years ... dam I'm getting old LOL. After that many years ya kind'a get used to driving a truck. Only reason I would want a 6.2, or equivalent power in a brand X, is for the fun factor. You have the 6.2, and I'm jealous!! My bright red Chebby now has just over 30K for mileage so I'll be keeping it for a while. But when the China virus fear factor blows over I might go kick a tire or two.

Silverado.... throw them zombies in the box and shake their brains out LOL. I actually like the stance of the Tacoma. Never really looked at them up close and personal, but they seem to come OEM with good size tires and good ground clearance. Don't know if I could live with an Asian truck in my driveway though. But I guess they're made/assembled here in America, so.... I don't really need a full size truck any more. Hell, my '16 hasn't ever done an honest days work other than towing a UHaul after buying a couple of motorcycles from out of state. I could prolly get by with a Tacoma or one of the other mid size brands. But most of the mid size trucks cost about the same as a full size, comparably equiped. At least that was what I saw in August of 2016 when I bought my viber. And gas mileage isn't much better with the smaller gas trucks either. Being mostly retired now, I don't really give ****** about MPG. If I was willing to spend the coin I'd opt for a 6.2 next time around, if I were to go for another GM. But as we all know, sadly, GM isn't inclined to do the right thing.

I haven't looked into the Tundra or haunted a Toyota forum. But I notice on Craigslist the Tundra seems to hold its value better than other truck brands, or at least the asking prices are up there. The smaller Tacoma seems to be a pretty popular choice around my area. And judging from some of the news videos, apparently the Taliban think it's a pretty good machine gun platform LOL.

Cool beans!! Good for you! My opinion...GM knows what the issue is, or issues are, that cause the shakes. What ever the issue it's prolly an expensive fix so GM skirts the problem, and shoves it up the buyers ass. Check out the '19 and '20 forums and see if there are members talking about shake. If not it's obvious (to me) that GM knows the cause and has made corrections. My '16 Silverado 4x4 Z71 has the shakes, but "it's within spec". GM and the dealer both suck. After 50 years of driving GMs I'll likely be looking at other brands when it's new truck time.

I agree. I'm sure GMs army of engineers know what causes the shakes and like you believe the cost to correct the problem is why GM is thumbing their nose at us/those with shakers. Great way to do business... fuk yer customers... As far as comfort, I have my seat and steering wheel dialed in pretty well and it's nice'n comfy (other than the shake). The one thing that does bug me though is the damn black cloth upholstery in the Silverado. That's all I've seen, unless you upgrade to a truck with leather. That trim level wasn't in my budget when I bought my '16 and likely will not be in the future. In fact, GM might not be in my future due to their shitty attitude towards the customer.
