Discovered! Features you may not have known about...

Holy crap! THANK YOU. I will try this tomorrow. This is not in my manual, but I will definitely give it a try! THIS is what this forum is all about! -

Bummer. That's the problem I was hoping to avoid. Grade Assist Braking doesn't require throttle modulation to keep a constant speed. Using Manual Mode does. Thanks anyway. -

I just read through that thread... That talks about Turning the feature on and off. I'm asking about how to manually activate it the same way it's triggered by light brake pressure and temp. I WANT to have it kick in on certain grades where it works well, but it only does when its hot out. -

I'd love for you to show me in these screenshots from the manual where it specifically mentions Grade Assist Braking, which is 100% DIFFERENT from Hill Assist whats meant for steep slopes. The mode I am referring to activates when I'm on the freeway going down a grade at 20-40 mph, not a steep gravel road. -

Here’s the thing. It only activates for me in San Diego when it’s > 85* outside, and as I’m going down the grade I’m lightly dragging the brakes. The DIC Chime’s and says grade braking activated. At this time, it maintains my current speed with no throttle input. If I hit the brake, it disengages. If I throttle up, i speed up, if I let off it will hold the speed at which it activated. It’s a totally different experience than putting it in M3 and using the throttle to maintain speed. I wish I could get to my target speed then select cruise control, and then do something like hold down the hill descent braking lever in my truck to force it to activate the grade assist feature at the speed. -

I read all 29 pages of this thread... here's what I would like to know: Several people in here have mentioned how to turn Grade Assist Braking OFF. I want to know how to turn it ON in my 2016 Z71 I drive in rush hour traffic down a significant hill daily. I'd love for this feature to be able to be activated the same way I count with the low speed hill climb... But sadly I don't see a way to do this. I'd love to be able to be rolling at 20-35 mph down a grade in traffic and set the grade assist to that speed going down the 1.5 mile hill instead if constantly hitting my brakes. Shifting into manual helps some, but by no means does it do what the grade assist.. but ONLY on hot days (I think brake temp factors into the equation). I wish someone had a sequence to activate it on my commute daily! Have a good day all. Stay safe. -Tom D -
Easy wires through firewall, thought I'd share

Wanted to drop in and say thank you for this, I used this trick to route my CB antenna wire through to the engine compartment. in the 2016 Silverado there's JUST enough room at the gap near the top of the hood/front fender to route the CB Antenna's connector. Made life a lot easier. -
Fair Q. It's tough for me to bring in my truck; my working hours coincide with the hours of the service dept; so I was hoping for a quick peek into this on a seemingly minor problem. I did 99% of my own work on my '02 silverado, and was hoping this would be easy to address.

Hi all; Late to the party on this thread; but I just got a 2016 Silverado; and I have the opposite problem... On the drivers side I can't get any AC to blow on my feet; no matter what setting it's on. Can somone give me a hint/picture as to where the access is for the actuator door so I can look at mine? Thanks in advance!
