  1. Gil, sorry that I will not be able to help or advise you on this. I got so sick of the runaround from GM that I traded the Silverado in for an F-150. I am vert happy with the truck. I wish you luck!
  2. My truck need not even leave the parking lot to duplicate the shifting problem. The last update done did help the shifting some but the clunk on deceleration is absolutely horrible. It sounds like a u-joint with 500,000 miles on it. Also if I shift from reverse to nuetral it clunks quite loudly. I hate it.
  3. So after 7 trips to the dealership about shifting issues and having GM send an engineer to asses the situation and having them all say it is "Normal" for my truck to shift like crap in the low gears there is a TSB for it. What kind of crap is that? GM flat out lies to me for 8 months about the problem?
  4. Has anyone else had a check engine light with the transmission issue? My check engine light has come on 3 times, always communication loss. The first time it put the transmission in limp mode.
  5. Now GM states it will be the week of 11-14-16 before they can send an engineer. Ridiculous.
  6. I am now waiting for GM to send their engineer from Atlanta. Not sure what will be resolved. I have told GM I do not want this truck anymore, I hope I can get out of it.
  7. It is now a week after the last "update" they did to the transmission and now I have a check engine light again and it is clunking hard on downshift, and decell, shifting poorly on accel. I sent Anthony J from GM a private message as requested by him with all my information. NO reply. Now I get to waste more time and gas taking this truck back to the dealership. I don't know how GM can say this is a normal condition when it throws codes and sets the check engine light. This truck is a huge disappointment.
  8. Trust me there is NO babying of any vehicle I own. I did not buy the 6.2 for towing, I have a diesel for that. . The truck does sit an awful lot, I only got it for a toy so it is driven rarely. Still under 5,000 miles. I really don't think that has anything to do with how the transmission shifts, I am 51 years old and have put over a million miles on various pickups I have used in my business for 28 years. Never has one been to the shop as often as this brand new Silverado. I am up to 3 rock dings so far, I already ordered some touch up paint since the dealer wants $1200.00 to repair 3 dings. Crazy.
  9. Here is what has been discovered so far. First time it was towed due to check engine light and transmission would not shift at all they found U0101 lost comm with TCM, and U0102 lost comm with transfer case. Code P0700 was also set. They claimed it was a bent pin in a connector X115 grid location. They gave me back the truck and it still did not shift well. Was told that was normal. Also told the clunking on decell was normal. 1300 miles. I took it back in at 2700 mi. told them the battery was dying if I let it sit for 5 days, and I was not happy with how it shifts. They told me battery was fine. Did update to transmission S039E and reset adapt code FDB4C. It actually drove and shifted pretty well after that 3100 miles and I got another check engine light. Had them tow it in same U0101 U0102 codes. They told me the negative battery cable was drawing too many milliamps so they replaced it after tearing my entire dash apart looking for loose ground wires (GM told them too). It still shifted terribly in the lower gears, but the battery is not going dead. I am bringing it back in Wednesday for the shifting issues. I hope they can fix it. Took it in 10-12-16, They did another update, Cause #16-NA-019 Information on transd adaptive functions and correcting low mileage harsh shifts, slips or flares. 8480318 Trnsmission service fast learn. 22wpchv. What all that means I have no idea. It does shift a little better, I find it very interesting that Elcamino got good results changing the fluid. Could you please send me a PM with what fluid you used and also if you replaced the filter? Thanks!
  10. Hi, I am new to the forum and have done some reading on 8 speed transmission issues. I have a 2016 Silverado 4X4 6.2 with the 8 speed. build date was 3-3-16 built at plant G. The transmission just does not shift well in the first few gears. It has been to the dealership 3 times. Two of those times it was towed in because I got a check engine light and it went into limp mode. The truck only has 4K miles on it, I almost never drive it just have it for a toy. Does anyone have any suggestions or TSB's they would like to share as I plane to go back to the dealership and try to get some resolution. I also have a severe amount of lash in the drive train. When I sit stationary and shift from Drive to Reverse it clunks terribly. My old F250 4X4 with 220K on it does not clunk at all. The dealer said it was "normal". I think not. Also wondering if anyone has paint issues. Seems like every time something touches the truck I get a ding and a chip. I wish I had not bought this truck. Thanks in advance for any help, Robert
