  1. Guess I'll be going to get the new service bulletin done on my replaced box
  2. Mine had this occur with about 7000, box was replaced with the newer part number, 8000 miles later it has about 1" of slop in it
  3. When the internal shaft is worn it also wears out the external pitman arm and the idler arm. I'm dealing with this now. I have a new box but still have a little play due to the wear in the pitman and idler arms
  4. 12,500 now. Box replaced at I think 8000 or 9000? Yes everything was under warranty The pitman and arm assembly is like 120 bucks, almost not even worth my time going there for warranty since I''ll be taking it apart anyways to put the pisk on
  5. I had a new box put on and just had the pitman arm replaced. Drives good now, I think the idler needs to be replaced still though. There is a slight bit of play that would probably go unnoticed if i wasn't always focused on the steering like I am now I believe when the lash nut back outs the box has a ton of play and wears out the pitman and ilder arms prematurely I think I'll install the cognito PISK kit when the idler arm is replaced
  6. I'm thinking I just need to replace my pitman and idler arm the moore I drive it, It's tight when I turn left and loose when I turn right, I think it's just the slack in the pitman arm. When the box was loose it probably wore out the pitman arm Probably going to just order it and do it myself, by the time I take off time during the week to go down there it costs about the same. I had my retired father do it and he forgot to ask half the questions I had so they said it was fine and he left I'll order the PISK kit also
  7. My steering box is replaced with the updated part number and it is loosening up againa fter 1500 miles The new box isnt the solution From looking I cant tell if the nut is backing off on the new box, maybe I can try to check with a wrench
  8. Contemplating just trading my truck in on an LT or work truck that doesn't have the digital assist Or I can get all new steering components installed every 1000 miles I'm worried about being 500 miles away from home with a 12k pound trailer and no way to easily get it back
  9. Does yours clunk when you rock the steering wheel back and forth? Mine gets loose around 45 mph also Are all the trucks having this issue or just an unlucky few?
  10. Should we start filling complaints to the NHTSA? https://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/VehicleComplaint/ My truck isn't that bad yet, but it's not good and doesn't feel like a new truck should, maybe one with 150k and no maintenance. Theres no point of even taking it in, there is no solution to the problem
  11. Did your box come with a new pitman arm or did you purchase it separately? I'm thinking a new idler arm and pitman arm will solve my problems
  12. Part number for my new box is 84224694 I'm almost leaning towards the idler arm and pitman being worn now for the little play I have now when you watch the first part of the video it looks loose like the idler arm
  13. Here is the clunking that my new steering box is making, video is of the idler arm though
  14. When you guys have you truck turned off but the key turned so you can turn the steering wheel, then move the steering wheel back and forth does it make a clunking noise? I just got a new box 500 miles ago and its making a clunking noise, the idler arm seems to have some play also Noise is coming from the box, looks like the shaft is moving around also
  15. I had the new steering box put on, still have a little bit of a dead zone when the assist changed from about 45-80 mph, anywhere outside of that its fine. I'm going to lay under and see if it wore out anything else, if not I guess the adjustment nut maybe wasn't to spec on the new box?
