  1. Tell him to stop resetting the avg mpg on the dashboard and let it run for a full tank of gas. I know that number won't be 19-20. All jokes aside, my father-in-law has a 2016 Chevy dclb with about 2k on the od and he gets about 14mpg. And he does drive like an old person if you define old as being a qualified senior citizen.
  2. And if you scroll on your dash info screen you will see one for the brake contoler.
  3. Even though a new steering box may not be the final solution to this problem the only way you will get your original replaced is if the dealer requests it from GM tech support. My dealer did it by stating the latest TSB (D) did not work. I am convinced the problem is related to the digital assist because the looseness/tightness of the wheel changes with speed. For me it becomes loose between 45-72 mph. Outside of that range the wheel is a much tighter feeling. If it was the nut backing out speed would not change the feeling in the wheel. But maybe yours is different but I doubt it.
  4. They are replacing the steering box. I had mine replaced after the TSB's recommendations didn't solve the problem on 4 separate visits to the dealer.
  5. Well I just picked up my truck from service for the 4th time fix. Paper work says, "...driving as designed...". I guess I'll just have yo drive it a bit longer until the steering gets really loose again. Then take it in and ask if it was designed like this. Oh and to boot my wife asked a salesman to pick up his cigarette butt after flicking it out onto the nearby street. His response, next time you need to mind your own business and the only reason he was picking it up was because he was at work. Happened to be the same salesman that sold us our truck. Let's just say I was as polite as I could be.
  6. Been reading this topic for a month now and decided I needed to contribute so I became a member and this is my second post I know this topic was started in regards to a 2500HD but I am having the same issues as most of you with my 3500HD and here they are: (11/2/2016) At 13850 miles I had 3-4 inches of play (left to right) so I took it in to the dealer where they performed the STEERING GEAR OVER CENTER ADJUSTMENT (12/1/2016) At 14905 miles I had 3-4 inches of play (left to right) so I took it in again where they performed the same STEERING GEAR OVER CENTER ADJUSTMENT even though I told them I didn't think this fix would work and it didn't. (12/2/2016) Picked the truck up from the dealer, drove about 5 miles and again had about 1-2 inches of play. I immediately took the truck back and said it wasn't fixed. So I took the mechanic for a drive to show him first hand. During the drive he told me the fix wasn't the STEERING GEAR OVER CENTER ADJUSTMENT and that the real fix was a new steering box. So I left the truck with them for about 4 days while I drove a rental car while they ordered and installed a new steering gear/box. (12/26/2016) While driving back from Christmas Vacation I noticed that I have about 1-2 inches of play in the steering wheel again. I am taking the truck in today for its 15k mile service and during my 45 min drive to the dealer I will be focusing on the sloppy steering to I can schedule another mechanical service to "fix" this problem. I know I left a lot of information out about the road surfaces, towing, etc. but I don't think environmental or truck use has any influence on this issue but I would be happy to answer any of your questions if you have any. I am not happy about this what-so-ever but the service person I have been dealing with has been great to work with and in fact she is also having the same (maybe worse) issue with her 2016 Chevy 3500HD so she understands what I am going through. I will be looking into how to file a BBB complaint because I am fairly certain GM does not know how to fix this problem. Have a good day
