Didn't modify anything on the front bracket. There are 2 mounting points on the front brackets. One that connects it to the sports bar (via 1 or 2 TORQ head bolts) and a single bolt that connects it to the side of the bed. I removed the sports bar from the bracket via the top TORQ head bolts since you will not be able to reach the bolt on the inside of the bed with the cover roll up box in place. It may help to keep a flush finish if you use of the side rails that come with the bed cover as a shim while you adjust the front bracket position vertically BEFORE assembling and mounting the bed cover. Once the front brackets are in place, it should be as simple as floating the sports bar above the bed rails, sliding the assembled bed cover underneath it, then mounting the sports bar back onto the front brackets. Shouldn't even have to remove the brake light wiring harness

I was looking at doing the same thing but didn't want to spend $1800 only to have to cut the cover and mess it up. Did you only have to cut the brackets closest to the tailgate and not the ones near the back window?

Not that I am aware. I believe it was a concept only design.
