  1. My 2016 Sierra 1500 5.3l does the exact same and my dads 2015 silverado 1500 6.2l does it less but it will doing when wheeling up hills and stuff. From my research it’s the stock thermostat opens slowly to reduce pressure in the cooling system to stop the radiator from cracking. It’s very annoying thinking about trying aftermarket thermostats
  2. Thanks man I aprreciate it. Turns out it’s the thermostat that’s in my truck is slower than previous years to prevent the radiator from cracking Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Great looking truck Does the wheel tire and lift combo give you any rubbing? I want that same setup it looks awesome Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. yeah I agree it's not heating up to the point that it's boiling over or where I need to stop the vehicle but I'm worried when I tow my project car if I am driving at a grade then I will be in trouble. Also my father has a 2015 but it's the 6.2 and I have asked him and he says he doesn't see the needle move, but I need to get behind he wheel of his truck and do some similar accelerations to be sure Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. yeah looks like it I have only had the truck for a month I bought it used im hoping this isn't the reason the previous owner traded it in. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. So I took the led light bar and went for a drive today and still same thing I accelerate heavily not to the freeway from about 40-80mph the temp needle rises up to the first notch Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. haha yeah! In those temps I doubt it would get hot at all! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. yes if you get it there are like end plates screwed onto the ends of the bar and when you take them off they have a rubber gasket just make sure the gasket has silicone on the light bar side and I added a bead where the gasket meets the lens and have not gotten any leaks. Because I also purchased some of their led pod as reverse lights and they did leak so I took them apart and they did not have silicone on the gasket so I added some to them and have not leaked so far. The silicone I used was clear rtv adhesive silicone sealant I got from pep boys it's clear and waterproof Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I got it from amazon the brand is Nilight 32 inch it was $40 but I recommend taking it apart to make sure it has clear silicone Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. that could work but that just help the water repel off doesn't it? I live in socal so I have 0 experiences with living where it snows. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. ahhhhhh! We Findlay found a downside to whiter brighter longer lasting led lights! They don't cause enough heat to melt snow haha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. really? Hmm it didn't move even if it was floored like during passing someone in the freeway? But yeah being 6 degrees outside I'm sure would help a lot to keep it cool lol thanks for he feedback! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. thanks man! Let me know please this is driving me nuts! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. https://vimeo.com/198400283 I was able to take a video of the needle rising after an acceleration Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Okay so what about you guys will your temperature rise with hard accelerations or if you hold the Rpms at 3-4K going up hill? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
