  1. Got the front Bilstein 5100's put on today. Install was pretty easy. The driver side is a little more cramped due to the large wireloom, but a ratcheting wrench definitely made it a lot easier. For those of you that are looking for a better, smoother ride these shocks are not for you. What they do offer is better control and they settle out faster over bumps. I knew this going in so that is not an issue for me
  2. Bilstein 5100's arrived today. Had time enough to get rears installed today. I'll do the fronts tomorrow.
  3. That's good to know. Found it odd that it wouldn't work with a 5th wheel/gooseneck without the workaround.
  4. nothing really planned for this year. We have been busy dealing with some estate stuff. Did do a local trip a few weeks ago so our friends could shake down their new Denali.
  5. The front end feel is something others have mentioned. One thing that might help is to grease the front suspension 9 different grease points. Not many folks have commented that the dealership did this during PDI. All fittings have generally under greased from the factory.
  6. Great looking Truck. Regarding the Camera connection in the bumper opposed to in the bed. The transparent camera (per GM) is only designed to work with a bumper pull trailer under 30'. However many have found it will work with a goose neck/5th wheel over that length.
  7. @Jettech1do you remember the torque spec for the shock bolts? I'll be replacing mine this coming week.
  8. Just Had my brakes replaced at 23003 miles for the brake squeal. I have always noticed the weak/soft pedal feel since owning the truck. I even did the push the pedal to the floor hard, all the way trick and it helped some but I found it did not say that way. Since getting the brakes replaced I will say the pedal feel is much improved now. Not sure why, but I'll take it.
  9. Just an FYI concerning tow/haul mode. Per my owners manual page 288: Tow/haul mode is designed to be most effective when the vehicle and trailer combined weight is at least 75% of the vehicle's Gross Combined Weight Rating GCWR.
  10. I installed the 5100's on my 2015 GMC sierra 1/2 ton that had a RC level lift on it. I removed the level lift and installed 5100 all the way around with fronts set on the highest setting. This was a great improvement . The biggest thing I noticed was how quick the truck would settle out after hitting a bump. Cornering was more planted and just a better overall driving experience. I have been kicking around replacing the Rancho shocks on my 2500 HD. I was thinking about the 4600's since I have no lift and the are slightly cheaper and according to Bilstein valved nearly the same. Just wish they weren't blue and yellow. Luckily found the 5100's for under $379 for front and rears. https://www.suspensionlifts.com/shop/chevy-gmc/2500hd/2011-2023/shocks-2011-2023/11-15-chevygmc-sierra-2500hd-4wd-bilstein-5100-0-1-5-front-0-1-rear-shocks/?gclid=Cj0KCQjw4s-kBhDqARIsAN-ipH3D2N9FRCHy1V0q_dd-xhiFurSwv4xig56KI20Lb2OTzKGg7ks71esaAnTJEALw_wcB

  12. The 5er loaded is 10k and the kubota and trailer come in around 5-5500lbs which is lightweight for a 2500HD. Nice load of ash firewood here.
