  1. I personally did not have any noises from steering. My issue has always been excessive steering lash. So far so good, repair is holding. Plus temps here for the next week so potholes should start to show up. We'll see if that helps manifest any issues
  2. Exactly. Demand the service department to give you a letter that vehicle is safe to operate. If they won't hand them the keys and ask what kind of courtesy vehicle they will be providing. Then phone the government regulator and report it from their phone in front of them. Ask them to google the number for you
  3. Good. Spread the word. Transport Canada has a file and will be monitoring. The more the complaints, the sooner they will act. Once a recall is issued, they have to fix all affected vehicles, not just ones reporting a problem
  4. I provided the link above for Transport Canada. My 3500 had less than 7000km when it started acting up.Repairs this past week still holding. I waited almost 5 weeks for parts btw. GM paid for the rental
  5. They are not replacing the box. Check the service advisory that has been posted
  6. It's not the digital assist. It's the adjustment nut backing off Sent from my SM-P600 using Tapatalk
  7. No impact to me. I live in Canada. A government recall is the best avenue though. It forces manufacturers to fix all the vehicles, not just the ones that complain a lot
  8. Honestly, BBB is a joke. Companies can pay them off to improve ratings. They are a for profit company. If you want real change, contact a regulator connected to government. DOT or NHTSA would be good places to start imo
  9. http://www.tc.gc.ca/eng/motorvehiclesafety/reporting-defects-motor-vehicles.html Hope this helps. Got my truck back today.... somehow parts that were not available became available when they started having to pay for a rental. So far, so good. Took it on a 250 km drive this evening. BTW, they performed work related to bulletin #PIT5501D
  10. You have to have a federal agency that looks after this stuff. Report it and help yourself and others. It's obvious GM is not taking this seriously, oversight of a regulator needs to force their compliance.
  11. Fyi, I filed a safety related defect complaint with Transport Canada. I spoke to a gentleman who assured me they will monitor and investigate as needed. They have the power to force recalls by manufacturers. Please report to your jurisdiction so we can get this fixed promptly. The bigger the file, the sooner the issue will get resolved. Google Transport Canada, auto defects. Phone number and online form available. Thanks
  12. I have a 2016 Silverado 3500 high country. Same issue, the adjustment nut is backing out allowing the sloppy steering. Dealership tried the temp fix of loc-tite and retorqing but it has loosened up again. Dealership has no answers, parts are on backorder with no estimated delivery date. Today I handed them the keys saying I refuse to drive it unless the service department will do a safety on it. They promptly put me in a rental from Enterprise. I don't know how the system in US works, but here in Canada, Transport Canada has a reporting system for consumer to report safety defects in vehicles, tires, and child seats. I reported my truck yesterday and am waiting for a call back as they gather more info. I would assume the agency for Canada and US could share info and order a safety recall so we all need to get on board with this. I'll keep everyone updated. Btw, my truck is from Flint..... it must be the water.... Sent from my SM-P600 using Tapatalk
