  1. Good question. I attached a Victron Battery Sense to monitor the batteries.
  2. Some pics from factory 2nd battery installation. Works fine so far other than first 125 amp fuse provided was actually blown. Replaced it and it's worked solid for over a year now. Buying the factory stuff was quite nice as it was totally plug and play with not much fuss. Wires fit perfectly and connectors to hold wires just snapped into place. Highly recommend going this route. I also replaced both batteries at that time with AGM and so far no issues.
  3. I know there are quite a few threads on the blower motor stopping and in particular having heat on one side and cool on the other or something like that which I think might be a different issue actually. I just have an issue at the moment where the blower just doesn't run anymore and I don't know how to figure out if it's the wiring harness, the control board or the motor part that spins and has a coil on it. All fuses are fine and I was even able to get it working again when I had it all out and connected the harness to the control board . Put it all back together, tested it again when mounted and it worked. Next morning didn't work anymore. I've heard the wiring harness can have breaks in it, but I'm not sure if the control board could have gone bad and/or the motor/stator thing? Can I rule either / any of those out before I go ahead and purchase and replace them? Any insight on how to go about this?
  4. Nevermind... I assume that's the gas tank. For some reason I was expecting to see something on both side of the truck to equal out the weight of the gas and that's why I initially dismissed the fact this was just the gas tank.
  5. I'm sure this has been asked before but I can't find anything on google other than a DEF for diesel engines. Trying to figure out what is this plastic "box" or large cover under the truck on the gas trucks? The one under the driver side that runs pretty far to the back of the truck opposite side of the exhaust? I'm stumped! It's a 6.0L gas MY2016 3500HD crew cab truck. May sound stupid but I'm looking to cut a hole above it, under the rear seats, for an Infinite Baffle subwoofer setup and need to know if there is any room above it and what I'm dealing with below the floor. Any thoughts and comments much appreciated!
  6. Add me to the list. 2016 GMC 3500HD with 112,000km. (have actually had no AC for a few years so I might have lost it as long as 40,000 to 50,000km ago - just kept refilling it beginning of each summer only to have it run hot by end of summer). I've been told by independent shop (which has a very good reputation over the past 20 years) that I need to replace all 3 lines plus condensor. with labour and taxes they want $3,000!! They quoted me $1,200 for the 3 lines ( suction, liquid and discharge lines) which retail for about $400 on gm-parts.ca - what am I missing? It's also 2-3 weeks to get parts out of USA... should I just go to the dealer at these prices? EDIT: comment about when problem actually started
  7. Thanks. Yeah, I've had the harness sitting on my floor for quite a while and only after studying the harness and the pictures did I realize it replaces the original wire to the fuse box. Really appreciate you confirming that. I'm getting my batteries on Friday and will instal this weekend and will post some some pics.
  8. Can someone please tell me what exactly is the number 2 point of attachment? I have the factory harness already. I haven't had a good chance to look hard under the hood but was wondering if someone had a picture of the post this attaches to? Looks like its attaching to the fuse box on the back side? Any help would be much appreciated.
  9. I needed a light under the truck to finally see the screws. They are black and tiny! Sent from my SM-G900W8 using Tapatalk Thanks. I ended up just removing the cover and installing the license plate. No mounting bracket required. Sent from my SM-G900W8 using Tapatalk
  10. What truck do you have? - Nevermind... I see it in your "Drives" description... Sent from my SM-G900W8 using Tapatalk
  11. thanks guys... I'll take another look under the bumper and maybe I'll stop by the dealer as I pass it on my way home every day anyhow. Normally this stuff is easy for me (I have an affinity to taking engines apart and trying to put them back together) but I always get stuck on the easy peasy stuff... :-)
  12. can someone confirm that I need the part #2 or #3 highlighted in the attached? Or is it a different part to hold the license plate? I have #18 in the diagram. thanks in advance! Daniel
  13. Can anyone tell me the part number for the front license plate bracket that replaces the chrome bumper insert as per picture attached? I've got a 2016 GMC Sierra 3500HD SLT that I bought from a dealer in Alberta which does not have mandatory front license plates. I'd like to get an online price for this item. Had I figured this out earlier when I bought the truck I would have asked them to switch it for me at the time of purchase. It's too late now. Anyone know where I could look for this part online? Also, is there some instruction on how to take off the chrome bumper filler part? I looked in the back of the bumper and took off a couple screws but it wasn't clear how it comes off. I don't want to force anything and break it! thanks, Daniel
