  1. Did you ever buy anything? Everyone I know that has the 8sp hates it. I personally am waiting for the 2020 Custom TB with the 6.2L and the 10sp.
  2. With all the posts about the 8sp transmission I will not buy anything with it. I would rather have the 6sp. Looks like I will be waiting for the 2020 Trailboss with the 6.2L and 10sp.
  3. Mine was intermittent. But after reading this thread I am sure it is related to my vacuum pump. I have spent $8,000 on repairs on this truck in the last 6 months. I guess I will add this to the future list. The first time it does it, it really catches you off guard. I about shit my pants the first time it did it.
  4. 2015 Yukon XL. 6L80 99,752 pump grenaded. 102,000 rear end went out. 195,000 transmission failed. Replaced with remanufacture for $4,000.00 Transmission fluid and rear diff fluid changed every 50k miles.
  5. My 2015 Yukon XL does this as well. If you sit too long with your foot on the brake, then let off the brake and have to hit it again, the pedal is rock hard and the brakes work only about 20% of normal. First couple times it did this were a little scary. GM knows about this problem, and like most problems with their products they try to cover it up. https://www.carcomplaints.com/news/2018/gm-brake-vacuum-pump-failures-lawsuit.shtml

  10. I emailed Mary Barra expressing my displeasure with this situation. Finally, someone did call me back, unlike the first time I contacted GM. Don't get too excited though guys. Nothing was accomplished. I asked them to pay for half of the repair, which I thought was more than fair. They refused. I do encourage you though to send an email to Mary and let her know how frustrated and dissatisfied you are with your purchase of their product. You can email her at [email protected]. It probably won't help you financially, but it will at least hopefully get your voice heard and maybe they will stop claiming that they have no idea what we are talking about. This was GMs last chance to offer some assistance and do what was right. I drive thousands of passengers every year, and get asked many times how I like my vehicle. Going forward, I will be honest. I will let them know that GM does not care about their customers, and I would not recommend buying any of their products. I thought that things at GM were improving. I guess I was wrong. I will never own another GM product. I am done.
  11. GM knows this part is faulty. Hell, they cant even keep the part in stock. The least they could do would be to keep their expensive faulty parts that were sold to us on our trucks in stock. GM is not interested in doing the right thing. They are interested in saving money. Actually, this is a big money maker for them knowing that 100% of these parts will fail at $700.00 a piece to repair. People were dying in their vehicles from a faulty part, and they would not do a recall. Thinking they might recall this is wishful thinking. I wouldn't buy another GM piece of shit if they were having a 75% off sale!
  12. Of course its not a coincidence. This is a widespread problem, and GM refuses to acknowledge it. All of these condensers are failing in the exact same place. I, too, contacted GM for assistance with the issue. I asked them to please pick up half the tab for the repairs relating to the faulty part that was in this truck. They were of no assistance. In fact, they won't even acknowledge that there is a problem. GM does not care about their customers. Nor are they interested in doing the right thing, and standing behind their faulty product. There will never be another GM product in my household. Done.
  13. Bumper to bumper has always been 3/36. Powertrain was 100k miles which changed to 60k miles on the 16. OP, get rid of it before your problems get any bigger. Eventually, your condenser will fail just like everyone else. Your radiator will start leaking. And you will need new lifters because of the Active Fuel Management (dealer has already told me to start saving because it will happen. Cost = $2,000.00). GM will offer you no assistance on any of these issues.
  14. Mine failed in the exact same place. As did all three of my friends that own this same truck. The problem is so bad the part is on national back order. I called on dealer, and was told good luck finding a part. He had 11 vehicles down waiting for the part. Contacted GM to ask them to cover half of the cost to fix it. Worst customer service. They too, just like you, said this is not a widespread problem and they know nothing about it. I am done with GM. Never again.
