  1. Yesterday while backing out of my driveway the automatic steering correct started jerking the steering wheel out of my hand to the left. I stopped and waited and it seemed to stop doing it, so I continued on. I put the truck in drive and headed down our street and the steering did it again, but this time, the engine shut off and all the electronics went blank except for the yellow check engine light - leaving me in the left lane of oncoming traffic. I restarted the truck and it restarted, with a notice to open drivers side window - I rolled it down and back up and up and all the electronics came back on, but I needed to reset and re-program everything. Next stop was to my GMC dealer - which told me this happens when the battery cables go bad (which the service writer told me is common). I have 80,000 miles on the truck and I have never have heard of this happening. I was also informed the control arms were worn out and needed replacing along with the oil cooling lines and the transmission temp sensor...a lot of stuff for only a 2017 and 80K. I'm looking for some forum feedback here - my old Chevy PU is still on the road with almost 300k and has only had one real quality problem so this really astounds me. The electrical problems have been unreal along with failure of the Autoride system which needed to be replaced. thank you - Stshack
