  1. I did the fold down mod on mine a few weeks ago. Works great.
  2. Had the same issue. Here is what I did. 1. Delete the app from your watch. 2. Re add the app to your watch from the watch app on your iPhone. 3. Log out of my chevrolet app on iPhone. 4. log back into my chevrolet app. Just what I did. You could try just logging out and back in first. prob will work.
  3. Saw a post on Facebook last night. I have the My Chevrolet app on my iPhone, but never realized you could have it on your Apple Watch. Took a little to get it working but, I can start, stop, unlock and lock my Silverado from my watch. Takes about 5 seconds for the command to come thru. Then you get a notification on the watch the your truck is locked or whatever.
  4. I agree. I have years as an accident reconstruction expert. It would take a crash that would probably be unsurvivable before that tab could come loose with the seat down. i.e. buckling of the rear or bottom of the cab.
  5. I folded the bottom up then reached behind the the seat back and marked the tab. It looks to be about 2 and 5/16 inches. I would mark then cut. Not sure how standard this is. Yours may be set slightly lower or higher.
  6. Seat in normal position Seat bottom folded up. This is all that is available without the mod. Both seat an back folding forward. Seat Back folded all the way down on the seat bottom.
  7. Ok, On the new crew cabs the bottom of the seat will fold up. When this happens the back of the seat moves up but the back will not fold forward. By cutting the 2 tabs, When you fold the bottom up, it releases the tabs and allows the back to fold down allowing access behind the rear seat. I will post some pics to show you.
  8. No problem at all. Was not sure how secure it would be till I took the seat out and saw how everything connected. I am not the least bit concerned now. I used to work crashes for a living and nothing about this upgrade is a safety issue in my opinion. This is what the forum is for to me. Learning new things about the trucks and the back and forth discussion.
  9. Should not be an issue at all. 1. in a rear end collision the force would push the passenger further into the seat. 2. The bracket is fully engaged when the seat is down. So the same amount of metal to metal contact. 3. The seatbelts are mounted to the truck not the seat so no effect on them at all. 4. If rear seat passengers are belted this mod would have zero effect. If not belted the seat is still not going to move but they are going to be slamming the rear of the front seat. These pics were a pain to get but wanted to show that this mod is in my opinion not a safety issue. Of course everyone needs to make their own decision on something like this. But for those that are wondering here are the pics.
  10. Did the rear seat fold down mod. I only did the long side. May do the other side later. I have been wanting to this mod since I got the truck.
  11. Just back from a 1800 mile round trip Louisiana to Indianapolis and back. Truck ran well, first real trip. So today I washed the truck and cleaned to interior. Then I rotated the tires and reset the TPMS. Changed the Oil and filter. Really like this new truck.
  12. Vinyl wrapped the chrome skid plate. Special thanks to Viktorrocks15 for the idea. Before After the wrap. 1st time I ever wrapped anything. It only took me 3 tries. To me the Truck looks so much better like this.
  13. My original idea was shadow chrome paint. After seeing yours I decided I wanted it black. Just ordered some gloss black vinyl wrap to try. Never used vinyl wrap before so we will see how it comes out.
  14. The skid plate on my 17 is chrome. I really like the black one on your truck. Did you paint it or wrap it, or is that factory?
  15. I got them from 4wheelparts.com they were on sale for $998 They are showing $1232 now.
