  1. For sale is a lightly used Softopper brand topper for 6.6' beds. This topper only comes out of the garage a couple times a year. No rear window (solid canvas), no boot. I personally like not having the rear window that seems to always crack in cold weather (I have owned 5 of these toppers) and blocks the lights from tailgaters at night. 450.00 I would like to sell local, but shipping and PayPal fees are buyers responsibility. No Friends/Family transactions. PM and email to [email protected] for quick replies.
  2. Banks SKU# 66411 This can be used on a wide variety of gas and diesel trucks ranging from 1999-2016. Please verify if this works for your application. I have used this for the past 6 months and liked it a lot. Mostly used it for fuel economy on long trips empty and tow tune. Never tried the higher tunes. The USB cable went missing, so you will need to grab one of those and for the reason for the lower cost. The reason I am selling is I can now do different modifications since my CP3 conversion and do not have to worry about that issue. 250.00 Buyer pays shipping and PayPal fees (3%). I will not do Friends/Family transactions. Sorry. PM or contact me at [email protected] (or both) for fast responses. Programmer is located in Colorado Springs, CO if you are local.
  3. Looking for options and actual owners that have fallen victim to this. I keep hearing about CP4 catastrophic failures, and have yet to meet someone on a forum that has had the $9K+ bill (always been a friend of a friend). My 2016 is factory(ish) with a Banks CAI, FASS LP, CAT 2 micron filter upgrade, BD water separator. I use a fuel additive every fill up and the truck has 56k miles The majority of them are towing 9K or more. Now that there’s CP3 conversions that keeps my truck in emissions compliance, this is tempting. However, the CP3 isn’t bulletproof either. I had one fail on my CR 5.9L Cummins before 80k miles. I was looking at the Industrial Injection CP3 kit for around 1750.00. Any other recommendations?
  4. I have been looking at the Volant intake with the power core filter. Looking at my air intake temps, which is normally 20* higher than ambient temp according to my Edge CTS3.
  5. The two part YouTube video was pretty good. When these trucks are worked, they last a long time.
  6. I like them. Quiet, ride nice, and work well in the snow (packed) and haven’t been in snow over 16” yet. I have towed in some sloppy mud with 8k+ behind me without any issues.
  7. Long as you're happy with it, all that matters. You must not be in the mountains.
  8. Well it doesn't sound like it does: Quote BlackhawkZ71: Got a new 2018 travel trailer 32, dry weight was around 7k Had a weight distribution hitch installed at the rv dealership. Truck had no sag on the rear for 700hitch probably more since the bottles were full.. She did good until i hit some hills. Running 55mph hit a hill and drop to 50mph on cruise ( I figured it would drop some gears but it dropped one and went up.) my instant mpg was 8.8mpg. got on the throttle hard (pulling out on to the highway) she moved pretty decent. Overall not bad for a 5.3 thats where i doubted my chevy. I am glad i am not pulling it full time just to my spot and parked it until I decide to move. May invest in a programmer to help with pulling that thing around if i have to. Still may do it anyway:) but not in the cards just yet. I was just wondering since in this thread it pulls great, and another one you doubt it. I like to ask what someone is comparing a tow rig to. I compare mine to my buddies Ram 3500 and F-350s. So far, I haven't been disappointed with my decision one bit, and I tow a smaller TT than you. That is a lot of trailer for any half ton. The weight isn't the issue with me, more so the length.
  9. When you say "the chevy in my sig did the job amazing", what are you comparing your truck to? A Chevy with the 6.0? A Toyota Tacoma? Dodge 1500 Hemi?
  10. Oh shit. I just noticed that I quoted another person, and you came into the conversation...LOL. Sorry about that. Now I am in the same ball park. I thought you had the six speed and 3.08 gears. I would hope your truck tows like a champ with the 6.2L and 8 speed. That is GMs top dog in the 1/2 ton line up.
  11. It works, gear ratio's don't change as long as you are 1:1 drive ratio in the transmission. What it states, is that GM gearing sucks in the 1/2 ton trucks. It is for fuel mileage. Now the 4th gear in your truck is still not exactly 1:1, but close enough. Now with some configurations with Max Tow Packages, you can get the 3.73 gear ratio. Going from 3.73 to 4.11s is only 250 rpm. Do me a favor, the next time you are going down the highway at 65 mph, drop the transmission into 4th gear and see where you are at with the 33" tires. It will be close to the chart. 4.11 gear ratio would do wonders for your truck, that I promise you. The Jeep in my signature has 5.38 gears and it is ok at best in 2wd driving up to 60 mph since the huge horsepower producing I-6 4.0 is still installed and struggles with the 40" tires. The next swap is a LS motor for sure. Now when I kick in the Atlas 4.3 transfer case, all four of the 40" tires can be smoked easily. All about gear reduction. Now my good friend has an LS3 and 4L65E, 5.38 gear ratio with 40" tires and cruises at highway speeds without much effort. Having a little RMP in the 5.3L motors isn't a bad thing. Now if I attempted this, I would have to be in 4Lo and hitting the rev limiter, where his TJ was in 4Hi and had the power/wheel speed to keep going.
  12. This has been helpful over the years. Hope this does the same for you.
