  1. 2016 All Terrain 5.3. True custom duals, 2.5" front level, 2" rear block, 33" Duratracs on aftermarket 18s, tow package. Surprisingly quick, lots of power, handles great, tows my sled like it's not even there. Great interior/exterior fit and finish, comfy and ergonomic seating. Love everything about the truck except the paint is paper thin and I've touched up about a dozen small chips so far. The transmission doesn't shift the way I like, doesn't drop a gear of deceleration fast enough so when I punch it coming out of a corner, specifically yields, it hesitates and has to drop a gear or two which makes trying to merge where I plan to very tough. I understand it's for fuel efficiency purposes though. Also, all the new safety features tick me off too but that's all new vehicles. More
  2. Wow, didn't think I was going to get this many responses already. I find the chips on the rear bumper and tailgate are likely from towing my sled trailer with salt shield and the rocks are bouncing off it and hitting the back of the truck. My solution so far is I'll be getting big mudflaps instead of the stupid splash guards installed Monday, and I've been dealing with a Ziebart dealer to get the film applied to the bumpers. I'll touch them up just before that. Either that or have the bumpers sprayed with color-match rubberized bedliner (Reflex) but on a white truck I'm afraid it'll yellow over time.
  3. Is it too much to expect paint to be durable enough to take a certain amount of hitting before it chips though? Also, I have more chips on the rear than the front. Not sure how that's happening. Even got a couple on the tail gate.
  4. I've had my Sierra for about 9 months now and it's got more chips in it than my 06 F150 I traded in for it. I have already touched up 4 chips and have another 8-10 already. The paint is paper thin. Worst part is the truck was stolen just after I got it and the only damage was a scuff in the bumper paint so it was repainted, and the dealer applied the same paper thin coat as the factory. I read on here some of you have gotten lucky and the dealers warrantied it. I'm going to pay the $500 to have the 3M film applied to my bumpers in the end, I just don't know if I should fight for new paint or just touch them up beforehand.
